Job Summary
The Senior Wire Payments Specialist provides advanced expertise in wire transfer operations, compliance, and fraud prevention. Acts as a mentor to junior specialists and leads complex projects to enhance operational efficiency. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex or high value wire transactions and exceptions.
  • Review and approve high-value or high-dollar wire transactions.
  • Assist investigations and report fraud or error resolution and provide detailed reporting.
  • Train and mentor Wire Payments Specialists; assist in onboarding new team members.
  • Collaborate with management on process improvements and policy updates.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new wire transfer platforms.
  • Support audit and risk management inquires related to wire operations.
  • Process incoming and outgoing wires according to established procedures.
  • Monitor wire queues and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Communicate with banking officers to secure approvals for wire policy exceptions.
  • Set up CIF records based on wire agreements obtained by the Frontline.
  • Perform call-back verifications and authentication when required.
  • Investigate and resolve errors; submit wire recalls and track progress.
  • Communicate with external financial institutions regarding wire transfers.
  • Assist in implementing new products, systems, or software for operational efficiency under supervision.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
  • Advanced knowledge of wire transfer operations and banking regulations.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Industry and Work Experience
  • 3 or more years of wire transfer experience required.

Academic
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
