Location: The Osborn โ€“ Rye, NY
Pay Rate: $19.38/hour
Schedule: Varies (including weekends and holidays as needed)
Department: Independent Living
Reports To: Director of Independent Living

This is a per Diem Role

Start Date: January Monday - Friday 8:30am - 12:30pm

Job Summary:
The Osborn is seeking a responsible and attentive Pool Monitor to ensure the safety, cleanliness, and proper use of our community pool facilities. The Pool Monitor will provide exceptional customer service to residents and guests while enforcing pool rules and supporting a safe and pleasant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor resident and guest activity at the pool to ensure safe behavior and compliance with all posted rules and regulations.
  • Greet residents and guests courteously and assist with check-in procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area, including furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Observe and report any safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or behavioral issues to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure towels and other amenities are stocked and available.
  • Assist in setting up or breaking down equipment for scheduled pool programs or events.
  • Follow emergency procedures in case of incidents, including summoning help if necessary.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout scheduled shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience working in customer service or a recreational setting preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain alert, proactive, and calm in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.

Work Environment:
This role requires extended periods outdoors or in a humid pool environment. Standing, walking, and occasional lifting of supplies (up to 25 lbs) is required.
