Job description

The Pool Monitor is responsible for overseeing pool activities to help ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for residents, guests, and visitors. This position monitors adherence to pool rules and regulations, maintains order within the pool area, and promptly reports any safety concerns, incidents, or maintenance issues to management. The Pool Monitor is not a lifeguard position unless specifically designated and certified as such.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the pool area to ensure all guests comply with established pool rules and community policies 
  • Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all residents and visitors 
  • Observe pool activities and address inappropriate or unsafe behavior in a professional manner 
  • Check pool access credentials, guest passes, or sign-in logs as required 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck, furniture, and common areas 
  • Report maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, cleanliness issues, or safety hazards to management promptly 
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies by contacting emergency services and notifying management when necessary 
  • Complete incident reports and daily activity logs as required 
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for the pool area 
  • Enforce occupancy limits and facility guidelines when applicable 
  • Provide courteous customer service and answer general questions from residents and guests 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred 
  • Previous customer service, security, recreation, or hospitality experience preferred 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to remain attentive and observant for extended periods 
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and calmly 
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable 
  • Basic knowledge of pool safety practices preferred
