Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool (Labor Pool) position in Albany, GA, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting with a 483-bed main campus and 124-bed north campus
  • Labor Pool unit floating to Med/Surg, Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
  • Med/Surg nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6; CNA support available at a general ratio of 1:8–1:10
  • Charting is performed in MEDITECH
  • 12-hour day shifts starting at 0645
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • On-call for low census
  • Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
  • Floating required across multiple units with potential for changing assignments mid-shift
  • Floor-specific orientation provided (16 orientation hours)
  • Telemetry monitoring available across different units
  • Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
  • Equipment includes BIPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and Draeger vents (used at HS)
  • PICC line support available; no dedicated IV team
Requirements
  • Active Georgia RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • At least one prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (for Med/Surg assignments)
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing unit assignments during the shift
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement

  • Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
  • Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
  • RTO and scheduling requests are honored only if submitted and confirmed at the start of the assignment
  • Holidays are rotated with permanent staff
