We're seeking a warm, organized, and guest-focused Pool Host to help create exceptional first impressions and seamless guest experiences throughout our pool and outdoor dining areas.

As the first point of contact for many of our guests, this role is responsible for managing seating flow, reservations, waitlists, and guest communications while maintaining the welcoming, playful, and polished hospitality The Standard is known for.

Position Summary

The Pool Host is responsible for managing the guest arrival experience within the pool and outdoor dining areas. This position ensures efficient seating, accurate waitlist management, and exceptional guest interactions while maintaining operational flow and maximizing guest satisfaction.

The Pool Host serves as the first and last impression of the pool dining experience and works closely with Servers, Pool Runners, Bartenders, and Management to ensure a seamless operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments.
  • Escort guests to tables and lounge areas when appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of guest preferences, special requests, and VIP arrivals.
  • Provide information regarding menus, hotel amenities, pool policies, and programming.
  • Anticipate guest needs and create memorable first impressions.
  • Manage seating charts and guest flow to maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate table assignments with Servers and Management.
  • Monitor table turns and dining pacing.
  • Maintain accurate reservation records and guest notes.
  • Communicate wait times clearly and professionally.
  • Ensure host stand and entrance areas remain clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Maintain menus and ensure they are clean and current.
  • Support outlet operations during peak periods.
  • Assist with special events, activations, and programming as needed.
  • Communicate guest concerns or operational issues to management.
  • Work closely with Servers, Bartenders, Pool Runners, Membership, and Hotel Operations teams.
  • Maintain positive communication and teamwork throughout shifts.
  • Support overall outlet goals related to guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Follow all company policies and service standards.
  • Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards.
  • Ensure safety procedures and operational guidelines are followed.
  • Uphold The Standard's culture of hospitality and service excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous host, guest service, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-volume environments.
  • Experience with reservation systems preferred (OpenTable, SevenRooms, Resy, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Positive, outgoing, and guest-focused personality.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
