Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Pool & Sauna Haus Manager this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all guests, including answering questions and addressing concerns. This position assists in enforcing pool rules and regulations and assists with events scheduled at the facility, as needed.

Job Description:

Essential Functions

  • Registers guests at the facility, collects payment from guests and makes sure proper waivers are signed.
  • Monitor pool area users, maintaining order and safety; enforce policies, rules and regulations.
  • Maintains pool facility areas in a clean and safe manner.
  • Follow proper emergency procedures when needed; administer first aid, as needed.
  • Report any employee of guest injuries to manager on duty.
  • Interact with guests in a professional, courteous, friendly and helpful manner.
  • Report guest complaints, concerns and suggestions to the supervisor.
  • Be familiar with all unit services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guests' questions accurately.
  • Maintain a positive and active role at the pool, even with working under potentially stressful conditions or working with difficult or injured guests.
  • Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements

  • Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
  • Passionate about guest service and the hospitality/recreation industry.
  • Ability to communicate and attend to guests with the highest standard of service.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to learn and operate point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Ability to pass cash handling training.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply first aid techniques or ability to learn.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Problem sensitivity and the ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to the supervisor.

Physical Requirements

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the facility. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to safely negotiate slippery/uneven walking surfaces.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently and up to 250+ lbs. with assistance occasionally.
  • Ability to frequently stand; walk; sit; stoop; kneel; or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Withstanding temperature and humidity extremes in indoor/outdoor environments.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand and hear the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
