Payroll Administrator:
On behalf of our [industry] client, Procom is searching for a Payroll Administrator for a 2 month contract role. This position is onsite at our client's Milwaukee office.
Payroll Administrator - Job Description:
We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and support employees with pay-related questions. This role is critical to keeping our workforce paid accurately and on time.
Payroll Administrator - Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly/monthly payroll for [X employees] across [states/regions]
• Verify timesheets, overtime, PTO, and other pay adjustments for accuracy
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws (FLSA, state-specific regulations)
• Process new hires, terminations, garnishments, and benefit deductions
• Reconcile payroll data with HRIS and accounting systems
• Prepare and file payroll tax reports (federal, state, local)
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings
• Support year-end processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation
• Assist with audits (internal and external) related to payroll
• Stay current on payroll regulations and recommend process improvements
Payroll Administrator - Mandatory Skills:
• 2+ years of payroll administration experience
• Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or similar)
• Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and multi-state payroll a plus
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Payroll Administrator - Nice-to-Have Skills:
• FPC or CPP certification
