Job Duties

he Weekend Manager is responsible for overseeing daily museum operations on Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience for all visitors while maintaining efficient store and site management.
Job Duties:
Open and close the museum, including completing end-of-day cash reconciliation and reporting
Supervise Visitor Services Technicians, supporting their work as interpreters in the house and clerks in the museum store
Provide guided tours and assist visitors with the self-guided tour experience as needed
Process ticket and retail sales in the museum store as needed
Provide coverage for Visitor Services Technicians during breaks, including lunch periods
Monitor and maintain museum store inventory, including restocking merchandise
Ensure public spaces are clean, orderly, and visitor-ready throughout the day
Assist with special projects and support overall museum operations as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high standard of visitor service
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey historical information clearly and accurately
Customer service mindset with attentiveness to visitor needs
Dependability, punctuality, and sound judgment
Ability to follow established procedures and enforce museum policies
Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems, computers, and phones
Strong multitasking and organizational skills
Availability to work both Saturdays and Sundays
