Job description

About Product & Engineering Operations

The Product & Engineering Operations team enables clarity, alignment, and trust across the organization by connecting Product and Engineering through reliable delivery processes, transparent reporting, and proactive communication. We establish governance, planning frameworks, operational systems, and reporting practices that connect strategy to execution, ensuring teams are aligned, informed, and focused on delivering measurable business value and customer outcomes. Through operational excellence, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement, we improve visibility, predictability, and efficiency across the product development lifecycle, helping the organization scale with confidence.

The Role

Babel Street is seeking a highly organized and process-oriented Product Operations Coordinator to join our Product & Engineering Operations team.

This role plays a critical part in supporting predictable delivery, improving time-to-value, and increasing confidence in roadmap planning and reporting. The Product Operations Coordinator will help sustain and scale Product Operations practices through stewardship of planning processes, data integrity, reporting operations, documentation management, governance activities, and cross-functional coordination.

Although aligned primarily to Product Operations and reports to the Program Manager, Product Operations, this role supports the broader Product & Engineering Operations function and will contribute to initiatives that improve coordination, planning, governance, and visibility across both functions. Success in this role requires close collaboration with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Program Managers, and stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, visibility, and execution excellence throughout the product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, has exceptional attention to detail, enjoys creating structure from complexity, and is motivated by improving how teams plan, communicate, and deliver value. This is a hybrid role that will be based out of our Somerville, MA or Reston, VA offices with a possibility of full remote for candidates not in those areas.

What You'll Do

Operational Governance & Data Management

Ensure accurate data, compliance, visibility, and operational health.

  • Maintain data quality and ticket hygiene across Jira/Jira Product Discovery and related reporting systems.
  • Audit work items for completeness, ownership, status accuracy, dependencies, and planning readiness.
  • Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to resolve data inconsistencies and maintain reporting accuracy.
  • Monitor work in progress and identify stalled items, trends, operational risks and governance exceptions.
  • Develop dashboards, automations, and reporting tools that improve visibility into delivery progress and organizational performance.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of escalation processes for blocked, non-compliant, or at-risk work and ensure appropriate stakeholder awareness.

Planning & Cross-Functional Execution

Ensure work is ready, aligned, and moving through the planning cycle.

  • Support Product and Engineering teams throughout planning, prioritization, Continuous Planning and operational governance activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional alignment efforts across Product, Engineering, Platform, Data, and business stakeholders.
  • Monitor planning readiness and help ensure required inputs, dependencies, and deliverables are completed on time.
  • Facilitate planning ceremonies, governance reviews, and operational meetings, ensuring clear objectives, agendas, and actionable outcomes.
  • Track action items, follow-ups, and key decisions from planning forums and governance discussions.
  • Communicate process updates, deadlines, and operational information to stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate dependencies, coordination challenges, and execution risks that may impact delivery outcomes.

Process Improvement & Operational Enablement

Improve the systems, processes, tooling, and documentation that support the organization.

  • Support implementation and adoption of Product Operations processes, governance frameworks, and operational standards.
  • Maintain operational documentation, playbooks, workflows, and knowledge resources.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Program Managers to enhance tooling, workflow design, reporting capabilities, and operational practices.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve scalability, consistency, organizational effectiveness, and team adoption of operational best practices.

What You'll Have

  • 2+ years of experience in Project Coordination, Product Operations, Business Operations, Technical Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration and work-management platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, initiatives, and competing priorities.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and proactively solve operational challenges.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

Nice To Have

  • Experience supporting Product Management, Engineering, or software development organizations.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or iterative product development methodologies.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, and operational metrics.
  • Experience with workflow automation tools and process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with product planning, roadmap management, or portfolio governance practices.
  • Experience working in a SaaS, technology, or enterprise software environment.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will help ensure teams are consistently prepared for planning, operational data can be trusted for decision-making, reporting is accurate and timely, and Product Operations processes are adopted consistently across the organization. You will contribute to greater visibility, improved predictability, and stronger alignment between Product, Engineering, and the business.
