LPN- Piedmont Geriatric Hospital

PGH is currently hiring for evening/night shift rotations-12 hour night shifts are 7pm-7:30am, 8 hour shifts are 3pm-11:30 or 11p-7:30am. Evening shift & Night shift 5 8 hour shifts are also available-3p-11:30pm & 11:00p-7:30am.

This position requires clinical knowledge of principles and practices of practical nursing, medication administration, psychiatric disorders and developmental processes. Ability to implement planned nursing care and provides guidance to other staff. Demonstrate competence as defined on Competency Assessment. Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic Computer Knowledge.
  • Requires current LPN licensure through the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • General nursing experience.
  • Experience with bedside nursing and patient observation

  • Long Term Care and Nursing Home experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge gerontology, techniques of behavior management, applied pharmacology as related to elderly patients with chronic medical conditions and mental disorders is preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices is preferred.
  • Basic management and supervisory skills are preferred.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records is preferred.
