What is a weekend helpdesk?

A Weekend Helpdesk job involves providing IT or customer support outside regular business hours, typically on weekends. Responsibilities may include troubleshooting technical issues, assisting users with account access, and resolving service requests. These roles are common in industries requiring 24/7 support, such as IT services, healthcare, and e-commerce. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the weekend helpdesk position?

To thrive as a Weekend Helpdesk, you need strong troubleshooting skills, basic IT knowledge, and experience with customer support, commonly backed by a high school diploma or associate degree in a technology-related field. Familiarity with ticketing systems (like Zendesk or ServiceNow), remote desktop tools, and standard office software is highly beneficial. Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are standout soft skills in this role. These abilities are essential for quickly resolving user issues, ensuring customer satisfaction during weekend hours when full support teams may not be available.

What are typical challenges faced by weekend helpdesk staff, and how are they addressed?

Weekend Helpdesk staff often handle technical issues that arise during off-peak times when limited in-person IT resources are available. This requires strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently, as immediate escalation options may be fewer than during regular business hours. However, most employers provide remote support tools, comprehensive knowledge bases, and clear escalation protocols to help you succeed. The ability to address a wide range of inquiries efficiently not only develops your technical skills but also builds customer service expertise applicable to future roles.

Job description

Legacy Village of St. George is calling all compassionate caregivers to join us in scenic St. George, UT! We're on the lookout for a Weekend Caregiver/CNA who's ready to make a difference by delivering top-notch, heartfelt care to our senior residents.
Why This Role Matters:
In this essential weekend role, you'll help ensure our senior living residents feel safe, valued, and well cared for. At Legacy Village of St. George, you're more than an employee-you're a valued part of a mission-driven team that celebrates kindness, integrity, and collaboration. If you're a weekend warrior with a passion for caregiving, we'd love to welcome you to our team!
Benefits You'll Enjoy:
Our Weekend Caregivers earn $17-$20 per hour, based on experience. That's not all-you'll also receive:
  • 401(k) with a company match
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Exclusive discounts at our managed hotels
  • In-house Medication Technician training to help you grow your healthcare career!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As our Weekend Caregiver/ CNA you'll work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during AM, PM, or NOC shifts, helping residents with everyday needs while bringing comfort and companionship to their lives.
Your day may include:
  • Assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, and dressing
  • Helping residents with mobility: walking, repositioning, and transfers
  • Monitoring vital signs and managing medications
  • Documenting care and updating health records
  • Offering emotional support through friendly chats and genuine companionship
  • Communicating with nurses and care teams about residents' health updates and concerns

Whether it's helping someone start their morning with dignity or being a calming presence at night, your role is vital to the well-being of our senior living community.
OUR STORY:
At Legacy Village of St. George, a proud part of Western States Lodging & Management, we live by a "personal touch" approach. We get to know each resident personally so we can go above and beyond in every interaction. Our work is grounded in six guiding principles: Be loving. Choose wisely. Perform together. Act boldly. Express gratitude. Mind the store.
We believe when our senior living residents feel empowered and independent, they thrive-and we extend that same belief to our team members. Here, you'll find a family-like atmosphere where your dedication doesn't go unnoticed and where fun, support, and purpose all go hand in hand.
THE TYPE OF CAREGIVER WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We're not asking for much-just a gentle touch, a heart for seniors, and a passion for building a rewarding healthcare career as a caregiver. Being CNA certified is a plus, but not required.
Ready to get started? Applying takes just a few minutes with our initial application. We can't wait to have you become our Weekend Caregiving Attendant!
