Job Description Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Service Design Researcher for a W2 contract opportunity. This is a W-2 contract opportunity, and candidates must be able to work on our W-2 only. NO C2C or 1099.

Position Overview Service Design Researcher (Blueprint Mapping & Ecosystem Design) Contract Length: 4 Months Location: Plano, TX (primary), Charlotte, NC Work Arrangement: Onsite 4 days Rate: $40-45 Ideal Candidate: Someone with Research skills that spans beyond the digital space and over-index in moderated strategic efforts taking broad conversations and distilling them into pattern-analyzed findings focused on the nuances. Important: This is a Service Design-focused position, not a traditional UX/UI Design role. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in service design, experience mapping, insight synthesis, visualization, and systems thinking.

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Service Design Researcher with strong expertise in service blueprinting, ecosystem mapping, journey mapping, and cross-functional facilitation. This role will partner with business, product, operations, technology, and customer experience teams to uncover opportunities, align stakeholders, and design end-to-end service experiences. The ideal candidate is a skilled facilitator who can bring diverse stakeholders together, lead discovery workshops, and translate complex processes into clear visual maps and actionable insights.

This individual will play a key role in creating service blueprints, ecosystem maps, customer journeys, and operational experience frameworks that support strategic decision-making and service transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead service design research efforts across complex business and customer experiences. Facilitate cross-functional workshops with stakeholders from business, technology, operations, product, and customer experience teams.

Develop and maintain: Service Blueprints Ecosystem Maps Customer Journey Maps Experience Maps Process Maps Stakeholder Maps Conduct qualitative research, interviews, observations, and workshops to identify customer and employee needs. Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations. Visualize end-to-end service ecosystems, dependencies, touchpoints, and handoffs across multiple teams and systems.

Identify service gaps, pain points, opportunities, and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with UX researchers, designers, product managers, and business leaders to align strategy and execution. Present findings and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.

Drive stakeholder alignment and consensus through effective facilitation techniques. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Service Design, Design Research, UX Research, Human-Centered Design, or related disciplines. Demonstrated expertise creating Service Blueprints and Ecosystem Maps.

Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops and stakeholder working sessions. Strong research and synthesis skills. Ability to translate complex business processes into visual frameworks and actionable recommendations.

Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups across business and technology organizations. Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with customer journey mapping and experience design methodologies.

Experience in enterprise environments and large-scale transformation initiatives. Familiarity with Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design frameworks. Experience using tools such as Miro, FigJam, Figma, Lucidchart, or similar collaboration platforms.
