Job description

This position is an individual contract position in the United States. International Candidates and 3rd-party firms need not apply.
Join a Rapidly Expanding Team as a Junior Project Manager of a Growing Digital Marketing Agency!
Ready to be the person who keeps everything moving? Tree Ring Digital is looking for a Junior Project Manager to help our website projects run smoothly from kickoff to launch. This is a coordination and support role where your organization, follow-through, and communication keep clients informed, teammates unblocked, and projects on schedule.
Youโ€™ll be the connective tissue between our designers, developers, content team, and clients. A great fit is someone early in their project management career who is naturally organized, genuinely enjoys staying on top of details, and takes satisfaction in being the reliable one who never lets things slip. Day to day, youโ€™ll manage project records in our CRM, handle onboarding setup, track status across active builds, coordinate client communication, and keep the operational pieces of the business humming. CRM experience is required. Web and marketing exposure is a plus, but weโ€™re hiring for attitude, organization, and dependability over years of experience.
Tree Ring Digital is a Denver-based, top-rated digital marketing agency with a culture thatโ€™s hard to beat. Weโ€™re like-minded professionals who share common passions, appreciate unique ideas, enjoy each otherโ€™s company, and love what we do. Our well-established, creative team thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an excellent work/life balance.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Project Coordination & Pipeline Management:
  • Track active website projects from onboarding through launch and keep records current in our CRM
  • Monitor project status and proactively flag anything stalled, on hold, or waiting on a dependency
  • Coordinate handoffs between design, development, and content so nothing falls between the cracks
  • Keep deal and project records clean, accurate, and free of duplicates
Client & Team Communication:
  • Send clear, professional status updates and follow-ups to clients
  • Schedule calls, send meeting links, and keep calendars and follow-ups organized
  • Communicate progress to the team and surface roadblocks early rather than after a deadline passes
  • Be the steady point of contact that keeps clients feeling informed and taken care of
Administrative & Operational Support:
  • Set up new client onboarding essentials, including communication channels and shared file or password vaults
  • Maintain organized documentation and keep internal records up to date
  • Support invoicing follow-up and routine operational tasks that keep the business running
  • Help close out completed projects and keep the pipeline tidy
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
  • 1-2 years of experience in project coordination, account support, operations, or a similar role
  • Hands-on CRM experience (HubSpot experience is a strong plus and will shorten your ramp-up)
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly and following established processes
  • Strong written communication skills for client-facing email and updates
  • Exposure to web projects or digital marketing is a bonus, not a requirement
Ability to:
  • Stay organized across many moving pieces without losing track of the details
  • Communicate proactively and raise issues before they become problems
  • Follow established processes consistently and document as you go
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team
  • Adapt quickly as priorities shift and new tools come online
Soft Skills That Matter:
  • High attention to detail and genuine satisfaction in keeping things organized
  • Dependable follow-through; when you say youโ€™ll handle it, it gets handled
  • Calm, clear communicator who keeps clients and teammates at ease
  • Coachable and open to direction, with a team-first attitude
  • Proactive by nature rather than waiting to be asked

What This Role Is NOT:
This is a coordination and communication role, not a hands-on production role. You will not be designing or building websites, writing code, or executing the technical work yourself. Success here means keeping the right people informed and the work moving, not doing the work for them. If youโ€™re happiest heads-down building things and tend to take tasks on yourself rather than route them, this likely isnโ€™t the right fit.
What We Offer the Right Candidate:
This is a contract position offering $25-28/hour depending on experience, with 15-25 hours per week based on your skillset and our project needs. Youโ€™ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while being part of a supportive, professional team.
Our standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5:30 PM MST for client calls and team meetings, but you can complete your work anytime as long as deadlines are met. Youโ€™ll have access to our collaborative tools including Slack, Google Workspace, and our project management systems.
Join a team where people genuinely love working because of our flexible remote environment, laid-back yet professional culture, and supportive colleagues who have each otherโ€™s backs. Weโ€™re committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
Ready to be the person who keeps it all running? Apply today and letโ€™s keep great work moving together!
We appreciate your excitement, but please no calls to our office. Only applications received through this portal will be considered.
