The Digital Experience/Website Program Lead is responsible for overseeing, managing, and optimizing the firm's flagship website-www.wsgr.com-and overall digital presence, including with respect to various external-facing microsites and blogs. Additionally, the Digital Experience/Website Program Lead defines, prioritizes, and implements website updates and improvements on a continuous basis, in partnership with Marketing Department leadership and various internal administrative functions at the firm. They are also responsible for identifying and executing SEO and GEO strategies to improve website visibility and engagement and drive increased traffic from search engines and other sources.
The Digital Experience/Website Program Lead's scope of activity includes both scheduled, proactive website management tasks and ongoing requests and special projects that arise from internal clients in the usual course of business. When possible, projects are driven by approved strategies and business objectives, and outcomes are measured through analytics, engagement statistics, and traffic reports.

This position is available as a hybrid or virtual work schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Website Management

  • Manage the firm's flagship website (wsgr.com), which contains over 25,000 web pages, including bios for 1,100+ attorneys and other professionals. This includes continuously monitoring, updating, and reviewing content to ensure compliance with Wilson Sonsini brand and style guidelines; creating new pages and working with RubyLaw to implement design modifications; and editing photos and other graphic images that appear on the site.
  • Manage and continuously update the firm's various microsites and blogs (e.g., Emerging Companies and Venture Capital microsite, Careers microsite, Data Advisor blog, Known Trends blog) with new content. This involves managing the relevant hosting platforms; WordPress/WPEngine administration (including web servers); and performing necessary software upgrades.
  • Serve as the primary gatekeeper for RubyLaw, the firm's website content management system, responsible for establishing global settings, managing users and access, and updating roles and passwords. Further, provide RubyLaw support to internal clients across the firm and act as a conduit to RubyLaw customer support when necessary.
  • Maintain the registration of the firm's various website domain names.
  • Troubleshoot any and all website-related technical issues/challenges in a swift and seamless manner to ensure an uniterrupted digital presence.
  • Ensure website accessibility and take a proactive approach to compliance issues. Maintain regional privacy and accessibility standards (e.g., GPDR, CCPA, etc.).

SEO, GEO, and Data/Analytics

  • Manage and update website content to align with SEO and GEO best practices, including researching and adding keywords and search terms most relevant to the firm's content.
  • Monitor the latest trends in SEO and GEO and recommend strategies to enhance the firm's online presence.
  • Set up, install, and maintain Google analytics on all firm web platforms, run periodic reports, and monitor results for significant trends.
  • Compile traffic reports and campaign results for internal clients.

IT/Security

  • Manage the firm's cookie management system on all web platforms (including installation, security audits, and ensuring proper functionality) and monitor our sites' cookies, as well as third-party cookies from embedded website content.
  • Partner with IT Security to ensure our websites, vendors, and cookie management platform are security compliant.
  • DNS, domain renewals, and SSL certificate management.

Other Responsibilities

  • Build time-sensitive HTML emailers for all firm-issued client alerts (approximately 300 per year), import them into the firm's CRM platform, distribute them to the relevant client mailing lists, and publish them to wsgr.com, firm blogs (using Wordpress), and social media platforms.
  • Maintain and manage a wide range of content on the firm's intranet, including all content on the Marketing Department's intranet site and the intranet home page news carousel and LinkedIn feed.
  • Work closely with IT to troubleshoot intranet issues or fulfill special requests as needed.
  • Serve as the Marketing Communication's team primary liaison with the Marketing Technology team to ensure alignment on key priorities and new/ongoing initiatives
  • Actively manage the firm's podcast and video platforms by adding, uploading, and distributing all new Wilson Sonsini-issued podcasts and videos (YouTube and Vimeo).
  • Evaluate and address resource allocation to meet the firm's evolving website-related needs.
  • Build and maintain relevant process documents for various tasks for colleagues of varying technical knowledge levels.
  • Create surveys and feedback forms for events using Google Forms.
  • May occasionally require schedule flexibility to accommodate urgent information updates.

Required Education and/or Work Experience

  • Minimum of seven years of website management experience; law firm or professional services marketing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently-as well as collaboratively as part of a larger team-and successfully carry out projects to completion.
  • Ability to prioritize numerous tasks, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary responsiveness and customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field required, or equivalent.

Position Competencies and Skills

  • Fluency in HTML and Javascript required, including the ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve code-related issues.
  • Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • Proficiency with Wordpress, Google Analytics, Adobe Photoshop, Marketo, Salesforce, and OneTrust Cookie Management Platform preferred.
  • Experience with emailer-building software and managing email campaigns preferred.
  • Experience with RubyLaw CMS preferred.
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:Palo Alto, New York, San Francisco: $116,875 - $158,125 per year. Austin, Boston, Boulder, Century City, Delaware, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, and all other locations: $105,400 - $142,600 per year.

The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
