College/Department Information
The Division of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) partners with Augusta University to promote safety services that support the clinical, teaching, and research missions on campus. We are responsible for a campus-wide effort to ensure Augusta University complies with local, state, and federal health and safety rules and regulations to provide a safe environment for work, study, research, and patient care.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing support to administration, including the department chair, by planning, organizing and managing the department staff.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Work closing with the Associate Vice President, EHS and Director, EHS concerning the development and tracking of division budgets. Work with division managers on tracking departmental spending.
  • Approve and track all expenditures made by division staff to include check requests, IDR, PeopleSoft requisitions, vouchers, and PCard purchases in Works.
  • Approve all blanket purchase orders.
  • Ensure that all transactions follow the policies and procedures for Augusta University and the University System of Georgia
  • Work with the division staff to create travel documents using the appropriate systems and processes.
  • Ensure that all travel meets the policies and procedures for Augusta University and the University System of Georgia.
  • Work with the Associate Vice President, EHS and the Director, EHS to complete human resource administration tasks to include data entry into the human resources software program, interview scheduling, and onboarding. Reconcile all salary budgetary expenses.
  • Manage and ensure approval of all division contracts with vendors as required by university regulations and processed.

OTHER: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of six years of progressively responsible office support experience.
OR
High school diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization required, with a minimum of nine years of progressively responsible office support experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Box.
SKILLS
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions.

Salary: $17.88/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
