Position Summary:

The VP, Banking Platforms at Everwise Credit Union is responsible for the implementation, management, enhancement, and administration of the organization's enterprise banking platforms. This includes the core banking system, digital banking platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) system, and loan and account application systems. The Vice President ensures these platforms meet the needs of the business, employees, and members, while also serving as a liaison between business users, Information Technology (IT), and vendor partners. This role is key in driving business process improvement initiatives and optimizing platform performance to support the strategic goals of Everwise Credit Union.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of core banking, digital banking, CRM, and loan and account application systems.
  • Ensure platforms are stable, secure, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to optimize efficiency and user experience.
  • Lead the implementation of new features and functionalities in banking platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and ensure they are accurately translated into technical specifications.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of platform enhancements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders, business users, IT, and vendor partners.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure alignment of platform capabilities with business needs.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on platform performance, projects, and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements and lead initiatives to streamline operations and enhance member experience.
  • Analyze data and user feedback to inform decision-making and prioritize platform enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for processes, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on platform performance and areas for improvement to inform the creation, prioritization, and implementation of product roadmaps.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners to ensure high-quality service and support.
  • Represent Everwise Credit Union in industry forums and conferences to stay abreast of trends and best practices in banking technology.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of Everwise.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to coach, mentor, and manage teams.
  • Experience with implementing, managing, and maintaining core banking platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and/or account/loan origination systems at a financial institution.
  • Ability to manage and participate in agile projects involving multiple or cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of bank and/or credit union retail/lending processes.
  • Organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders, including software vendors.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, solid decision-making abilities coupled with sound judgment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to member service.
  • Proficient in analyzing large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Efficiently, effectively, and concisely communicate with members, peer leaders, and executive management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 10+ years managing and administering core banking systems, digital banking, CRM, and/or loan and account application systems.
  • 8+ years in management role.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading complex projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of business process improvement methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collection management software.
  • Master's degree, certification in project management, process improvement, or similar certification preferred.
