Located in Greater Boston,MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associatedegrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills,Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have adesire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs andbackgrounds. This is a part-time,student employment position with no benefits.
Working inclose collaboration with the staff, this important position will provideSupport the front desk operations of the Academic Advising, Coaching, andTransfer Department.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:- Support the front desk operations of the Academic Advising, Coaching, and Transfer Department;
- Support the virtual operations of the Virtual Advising Center;
- Provide outreach to students who may have trouble accessing resources or services at the college who contact advising;
- Create foundational guiding materials to assist student workers who may cover desk and virtual operations;
- Be culturally responsive to individual needs and identities;
- Provide other assistance as requested.

Required Qualifications:- Consistent and reliable work habits;
- Working experience in customer service;
- Strong communication skills;
- Quick learner and motivated;
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Experience working or studying at a Community College;
- Experience navigating and supporting students through college processes.
Additional Information:Salary Range: $19 per hour
