Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is seeking a part-time Nursing Instructor Trainer to teach non-credit Corporate Training courses. Needs may become available before or during each semester on a scheduled or as-needed basis. Upon successful submission of your application, cover letter, resume, and transcripts, you will be considered for future part-time and/or on-call teaching opportunities on a per-course basis. If a training need arises in the area in which you are qualified, you will be contacted.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
• Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) using appropriate learning experiences and materials that provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals.
• Adhere to the course syllabus and comply with the Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
• Evaluate student progress through day-to-day evaluation, written examinations, and overall observation.
• Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, returning graded assignments to students in a timely manner, and assigning final grades for all students, meeting or beating all institutional deadlines for completion.
• Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assisting individual students as needed.
• Participate in professional activities, which could include, but are not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision, and other professional planning activities.
• Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
• Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
• Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, professional responsibilities, institutional service, and other responsibilities. Use such technologies in a manner consistent with academic standards, professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours/Schedule:
Hours vary based on class schedule(s). The terms of employment are based on class enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• An earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
• Minimum 3 years of Nursing Experience required.
• Current Michigan registered-nursing license required.
Must be available to teach during various times, including evenings or weekends.

• An earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.
• Recent, successful, post-secondary teaching experience in Nursing courses.
• Experience with Simulation and Technology.
• Online, remote, or virtual teaching experience.
• QM Teaching Online certified.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of AI-generated content; maintain confidentiality where required; exercise professional and academic judgment; and uphold ethical standards in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and service
