Hiring Timeline: This position is currently open, but we will consider candidates who are not able to start until the 2026-27 school year. Interviews will begin 2/15/2026 and continue until the position is filled.
About Queen of Angels School
Queen of Angels is a Seattle Archdiocesan Catholic school whose mission is to educate students and prepare them to be people of character, faith, and service. We are celebrating our 100th year of operation.
Position Summary
This position primarily assists the principal with daily duties. The vice principal will assist the faculty with improved performance, increasing access to instruction for all students, curriculum evaluation and implementation, course offerings and data-driven decision-making all in alignment with Queen of Angels School's Catholic identity. The vice principal will also oversee the professional development of faculty, lead the accreditation process, and be a collaborative member of the school community to support the success of faculty, students and families. The vice principal is a member of the school's leadership team.
Responsibilities and Activities
Primary Duties
a. Working with the principal, the vice principal will help set standards for faculty expectations. Then communicate and enforce them effectively.
b. Mentor and improve instructional practices through frequent classroom visits. Schedule teacher conferences to set goals and provide regular, documented feedback on performance.
c. Monitor and ensure grades are updated regularly.
d. Work with the principal to improve school discipline including taking the lead on student daily discipline matters, collaborating with staff to ensure proper procedures are followed, and communicating with families regarding school incidents and events
Other Duties
  • Communicate with families regarding concerns about curriculum, faculty, or other issues.
  • Collaborate with faculty and the leadership team to engage families through conferences, regular communications, and events.
  • Assist in monitoring fiscal resources by taking part in the budgeting process and overseeing spending throughout the course of the academic year.
  • Lead for accreditation team.

ExExperience, Skills and Competencies
Credentials: Valid teaching certification and ongoing professional development
Experience: Two years of experience in a similar role preferred. Background and experience in Catholic education is preferred but not required.
General Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to lead and work within teams, organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, ability to build student relationships, content knowledge of elementary school academics, and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with families, students, and staff.
Technology Skills: Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Teams, Google, Excel, and Word.
CCompensation
Salary: Salary is based on internal equity, salary ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. The Vice Principal works a 200-day calendar, and the salary begins at $55,000 and is dependent on experience.
Benefits: A comprehensive package of benefits is offered including medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays.
