POSITION: VICE PRINCIPAL - ELEMENTARY
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Master's Degree
2. Appropriate Massachusetts License
3. A minimum of five (5) years' experience in education, including equivalent experience at the appropriate license level.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: Assignments as determined by the Principal
JOB GOAL: Serve as a member of a collaborative leadership structure within a secondary educational environment. Provide leadership for supervision and support of teachers and students. Promote a positive school culture through academic and extra-curricular activities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reports to principal.
2. Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.
3. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases as necessary for the class assigned to his/her responsibility.
4. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions.
5. Works with the principal and faculty groups in compiling annual budget requests.
6. Works with the principal in the preparation of student and staff schedules, course of studies, etc.
7. Promotes and participates in extracurricular activities.
8. Serves with parent, faculty, and student group as requested in advancing educational activities and objectives.
9. Participates in the assessment of and changes in the school curriculum.
10. Participates in the requisitioning of educational textbooks, supplies, and equipment needed for the orderly operation of the high school, including conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking on receipts for such material.
11. Formally, may be asked to observe and/or evaluate school staff.
12. Prepares reports on a periodic basis, or as required, as directed by Principal.
13. Willingness and ability to serve as acting Principal, in the absence of same.
14. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.
15. Any other duties as defined by the Principal
