Job Summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. seeks an IT/Security Compliance Manager who would be responsible for day-to-day IT operations and security compliance for EMCOR Group, Inc.'s corporate headquarters (HQ) office in Norwalk, CT, supporting both on-site and remote employees assigned to the HQ location. This role serves as the primary point of contact for HQ IT and security matters, coordinates local service delivery and support, and manages HQ technology projects and budgets in alignment with corporate standards. The IT/Security Compliance Manager researches, recommends, implements, and maintains HQ systems, hardware, software, and security tools to promote reliability, availability, and compliance, and partners closely with enterprise IT and Security & Compliance leadership on governance, reporting, and escalations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

While other responsibilities may be assigned, the principal duties include the following:

  • Responsible for day-to-day IT operations at EMCOR's Norwalk CT HQ office:
  • Oversee network security as established by EMCOR policy
  • Effectively communicate relevant security and IT systems information to the VP of IT and the VP of Security & Compliance (CISO)
  • Work closely with the VP of IT and the VP of Security & Compliance to plan the annual budget based on headquarters goals for the year
  • Determine the schedule of IT projects for EMCOR's Norwalk, CT HQ office throughout the year
  • Attend regular conference calls with EMCOR IT and Security & Compliance
  • Responsible for IT Security & Compliance at EMCOR's Norwalk, CT HQ office:
  • Ensure compliance with EMCOR Security & IT Policies, Standards, and Procedures
  • Manage Security & Compliance action items on a daily basis
  • Oversee and manage the deployment of IT and Security tools
  • Communicate & educate employees assigned to EMCOR's Norwalk, CT HQ office on IT and Security best practices
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Responsible for IT Infrastructure and Operations at EMCOR's Norwalk, CT HQ office:
  • Manage changes effectively, and stay current on emerging technology and security practices

  • Responsible for the supervision of HQ IT support staff and third-party IT resources supporting EMCOR's Norwalk, CT HQ office:
  • Set goals for and effectively lead and supervise HQ IT support staff and third-party IT staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and providing feedback, and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Evaluate effectiveness of third-party IT expenditures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field OR equivalent experience and training
  • Five (5) or more years of technology management experience and/or Security & Compliance in complex IT environments
  • Ten (10) plus years of high-level and working knowledge of technology infrastructure and servers with progressive management expertise to effectively support and maintain an enterprise environment
  • Experience leading at least one direct report (hiring, coaching, performance management, development)
  • Significant experience with desktop/laptop deployments including design, engineering and support of endpoints, imaging, encryption, endpoint CVEs, security alerts from monitored systems, and compliance with SOPs
  • Understanding of EDR monitoring
  • Experience with MFA, SSO, and other security identity tools such as Entra
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST, ISO 27001 and similar standards
  • Understanding of Incident Response processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate a dynamic, progressive, and innovative technology environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team that can deliver excellent performance and service
  • Skilled in conceptualizing, analyzing, developing and implementing creative solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of operations, systems, and procedures

 Work Scope

  • The IT/Security Compliance Manager will exercise advanced discretion and judgement with both macro and micro level responsibilities. This is a hands-on role that includes oversight, investigation, and resolution of end user support needs, security questions and issues, customer service, infrastructure management including security, and recovery strategies and network administration, and strategic planning. The work scope will require the IT/Security Compliance Manager to be involved in internal service management, including coordination between EMCOR IT, outsourced IT, Segment Security & Compliance, and internal clients in support of the HQ office. The IT/Security Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and keeping confidential, highly sensitive information.
