Head of IT Operations

Infotek Group of Companies | Yorkville Avenue, Toronto (Hybrid)


Infotek Group of Companies is seeking a hands-on Head of IT Operations to lead and manage the organization’s internal technology environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of all IT systems that support daily business operations across the group.

This is a senior, practical leadership role for someone who understands infrastructure, cloud platforms, security, and internal business systems, and can both guide a team and engage directly when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Own Internal IT Operations

Lead and manage all internal IT systems across Infotek Group of Companies including Microsoft 365, Azure environments, servers, backup solutions, VOIP, and core business applications. Ensure uptime, reliability, and performance across the organization.

Infrastructure and Systems Management

Oversee cloud and on-premise infrastructure, including system configuration, upgrades, monitoring, and optimization. Maintain a secure and scalable environment aligned with business needs.

Security, Access and Risk Management

Own IT security across the organization including identity and access management, user provisioning, permissions, and authentication policies. Implement and maintain security controls to prevent unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats. Proactively manage risk by identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring proper monitoring and response protocols.

Cybersecurity and Threat Prevention

Establish and maintain safeguards against hacking, phishing, and other cyber threats. Ensure endpoint protection, email security, multi-factor authentication, and backup and recovery strategies are in place and tested. Lead incident response when required.

Team Leadership

Manage and support IT staff responsible for day-to-day operations. Provide direction, prioritize work, and ensure effective issue resolution and service delivery.

Business Systems and Cross-Functional Support

Work closely with the CEO, VP of Sales and Head of Recruitment to ensure internal systems effectively support recruiting operations, sales processes, and reporting needs. Continuously improve system usability, data quality, and operational efficiency across teams.

Vendor and Budget Management

Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers. Oversee IT procurement, licensing, and cost control.

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and reporting across internal systems and workflows.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or systems management
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Azure, and server environments
  • Proven experience with IT security, identity and access management, and risk mitigation
  • Experience managing internal IT systems in a small to mid-sized organization
  • Proven ability to lead IT staff and manage day-to-day operations
  • Strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Experience working with vendors, licensing, and IT budgeting
  • Experience supporting or managing internal business applications and reporting systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a consulting environment (Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG or similar)
  • Exposure to professional services or recruitment-based organizations
  • Exposure to AI technologies

Compensation and Work Model

Full-time position

Salary range: $100,000 – $150,000, based on experience and overall fit

Hybrid work model based in the Yorkville Avenue office, Toronto

This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who enjoys owning the full IT environment, including security and risk, and working closely with business leaders to improve operational effectiveness.
