Job description

JOB PURPOSE:  

The Vice President, Mobile Imaging will lead the creation, development, and longterm strategy of the company's new Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Services Department. This executive will oversee all aspects of mobile imaging operations-including Xray, ultrasound, EKG, and other portable diagnostic modalities-ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and market expansion.

This role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in diagnostic imaging, mobile healthcare delivery, and multimodality service operations. The VP will build a scalable service model, elevate patient care standards, and position the organization as a leader in mobile imaging solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Department Creation

1.    Establish the Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Services Department, including organizational structure, staffing models, and operational workflows.

2.    Develop a multi-year strategic plan for mobile imaging services aligned with company growth objectives.

3.    Identify market opportunities, service gaps, and emerging technologies across imaging modalities.

4.    Partner with executive leadership to integrate mobile imaging into broader clinical and business strategies.

Operational Management

5.    Oversee daily operations of mobile imaging services, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and high-quality patient care.

6.    Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance standards for multi-modality mobile imaging operations.

7.    Manage fleet logistics, equipment procurement, maintenance schedules, and technology upgrades.

8.    Ensure timely service delivery across contracted facilities, home health partners, and patient locations.

Clinical Quality & Compliance

9.    Ensure all mobile imaging services meet or exceed regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.

10.  Oversee quality assurance programs, radiation safety protocols (where applicable), and clinical competency assessments.

11.  Collaborate with Medical Directors, Radiologists, and clinical teams to maintain diagnostic accuracy and service excellence.

12.  Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and imaging specific requirements.

Team Leadership & Development

13.  Recruit, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary team including technologists, dispatchers, clinical supervisors, and support staff.

14.  Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and patient centered care.

15.  Implement training programs to ensure staff competency across imaging modalities and safety practices.

16.  Mentor emerging leaders and build succession plans for key roles.

Financial & Business Performance

17.  Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.

18.  Oversee pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships.

19.  Monitor KPIs related to productivity, turnaround time, patient satisfaction, and revenue growth.

20.  Drive operational efficiencies and cost optimization initiatives.

Technology & Innovation

21.  Evaluate and implement advanced mobile imaging technologies, digital workflows, and telehealth integrations.

22.  Lead initiatives to modernize imaging processes, including PACS/RIS optimization and mobile connectivity solutions.

23.  Explore AI enabled diagnostic tools and workflow automation opportunities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    10 years of progressive leadership experience in diagnostic imaging, mobile healthcare, or related clinical operations.

    Strong understanding of mobile imaging workflows, equipment, and regulatory requirements.

    Proven track record of building and scaling clinical service lines or operational departments.

    Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage complex, multisite operations.

    Excellent communication, strategic planning, and problemsolving skills.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:       

ARRT certification in Radiography (R) or other imaging modality credentials

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

    Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related field)

    Experience with mobile imaging platforms, PACS/RIS systems, and digital imaging technologies.

    Background in home health, longterm care, or outpatient imaging services.
