About the Position

This role is intended for a strategic advisor with experience in maritime, port, terminal, logistics, intermodal, or freight infrastructure. The successful candidate will help clients translate industry knowledge into actionable plans, investment priorities, funding strategies, and implementation roadmaps.

This position is well suited for mid- to senior-level professionals from industry, the public sector, or consulting who are interested in applying their experience across a broader portfolio of clients and geographies.

Your Impact
  • Advise public- and private-sector clients on freight, port, logistics, infrastructure, and supply chain strategies.
  • Lead and support studies, market assessments, strategic plans, feasibility analyses, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Help clients evaluate operational needs, market conditions, infrastructure constraints, funding opportunities, and investment tradeoffs.
  • Develop client, partner, and industry relationships while supporting new advisory opportunities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Prepare and present clear recommendations for executive, technical, public-sector, and industry audiences.
Who You Are

The ideal candidate will combine practical operating or planning knowledge with strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and sound professional judgment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public policy, engineering, economics, business, logistics, supply chain management, maritime studies, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in port, maritime, logistics, supply chain, intermodal, rail, or related goods-movement environments.
  • Experience working for or with port authorities, terminal operators, ocean carriers, railroads, logistics providers, shippers, public agencies, or comparable organizations.
  • Ability to support or lead studies, plans, market assessments, investment strategies, operational analyses, funding strategies, or implementation efforts.
  • Familiarity with freight operations, terminal systems, commodity flows, supply chain trends, infrastructure needs, technologies, or data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive, technical, and non-technical audiences.
  • Sound judgment and commitment to responsible, ethical decision-making consistent with WSP’s Code of Conduct and associated policies.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and WSP’s health, safety, and employment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Experience with port master planning, terminal planning, intermodal facilities, freight corridors, goods-movement strategy, or supply chain resilience.
  • Experience with market, operational, commodity flow, logistics, or supply chain data analysis.
  • Experience with grants, funding strategy, benefit-cost analysis, project prioritization, or investment planning.
  • Experience developing client relationships, scopes of work, advisory opportunities, proposals, or professional services contracts.
  • Program, project, or capital implementation experience.
