Summary:The Vice President, Research is responsible for the development of a comprehensive research plan and execution of subsequent research protocols. The incumbent administers and coordinates the leadership and operations of multiple research studies to ensure proper management and effective operation and execution in adherence to study protocols. Supervision is exercised over a number of professional, supervisory, technical and/or clerical personnel such as Research Psychologist, Research Coordinator and Research Assistant. Performs related work as required.The Vice President, Research serves as the senior leader responsible for advancing Rogers Behavioral Health's research, innovation, and knowledge translation strategy. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, with a collaborative relationship to the Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Medical Officer, this role bridges clinical care, scientific discovery, operational excellence, and strategic growth.The Vice President develops and executes a comprehensive translational research agenda designed to accelerate the adoption of evidence-based practices, evaluate emerging treatments and technologies, advance precision behavioral healthcare, and transform research findings into scalable clinical, operational, and commercial applications.The position provides leadership for research operations, grants and sponsored programs, data science collaborations, clinical innovation initiatives, external partnerships, and dissemination of scientific knowledge. The Vice President works closely with physicians, psychologists, researchers, operational leaders, and external academic partners to ensure that research activities directly support Rogers Behavioral Health's mission, strategic priorities, and patient outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and Translational Science LeadershipDevelop and execute a multi-year translational research strategy aligned with organizational priorities and emerging behavioral health needs.Lead initiatives that translate scientific discoveries into clinical interventions, care models, digital tools, and operational improvements.Identify opportunities to evaluate and implement innovative treatment approaches, technologies, and precision medicine strategies.Foster collaboration between researchers, clinicians, data scientists, and operational leaders to accelerate implementation of research findings.Promote dissemination of research findings through publications, presentations, educational initiatives, and strategic partnerships.Strategic InnovationPartner with the Chief Strategy Officer to identify innovation opportunities that support growth, differentiation, and improved patient outcomes.Evaluate emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, digital therapeutics, neuromodulation, wearables, precision medicine, and predictive analytics.Support development of intellectual property, commercialization opportunities, and strategic research collaborations.Establish relationships with industry partners, academic institutions, foundations, and governmental agencies to expand research and innovation capabilities.Clinical Research OperationsProvide executive oversight for research infrastructure, research personnel, study execution, and regulatory compliance.Ensure research activities maintain the highest standards of scientific rigor, ethical conduct, participant safety, and regulatory compliance.Support the development of pragmatic clinical trials, implementation science initiatives, outcomes research, and real-world evidence programs.Promote integration of research activities into clinical operations while minimizing disruption to patient care.Data Science and Outcomes ResearchPartner with analytics, informatics, and clinical teams to leverage data assets in support of research and innovation objectives.Advance the use of predictive analytics, machine learning, and outcomes measurement to improve treatment effectiveness and operational performance.Support development of behavioral health datasets and learning health system capabilities.Funding and External PartnershipsExpand research funding through federal, foundation, industry, and philanthropic sources.Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare systems, government agencies, and industry collaborators.Serve as an organizational ambassador for research and innovation initiatives.Leadership and Talent DevelopmentRecruit, develop, and mentor high-performing research, innovation, and scientific personnel.Foster a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, collaboration, and scientific excellence.Support professional development opportunities for clinicians interested in research participation and innovation activities.Additional Job Description:Physical/Mental Demands:Position requires walking, sitting and standing. Reaching, handling, grasping and manual dexterity are necessary to operate various equipment.Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of Research protocol development and administration.Strong knowledge in content relevant to behavioral health research.Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methods in a clinical setting, including Rogers Operating System.Ability to interpret scientific, technical and/or clinical research papers and their methodologies and results, translating these findings into news and educational resources for both healthcare providers andpatient/caregiver constituents.Comprehensive knowledge of the regulations and codes of the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Behavioral Health facilities, State Department of Health and federal research requirements.Thorough knowledge of administrative reporting and control procedures.Demonstrated strong management skills, including experience successfully leading a diverse team of individuals administering a broad range of medical, research and educational programs.Strategic thinker, with experience working in a complex environment, balancing competing demands and priorities, and the ability to discern when to lead versus when to support initiatives to obtain the bestresults.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of professional administrative, technical and clerical staff (or at all levels within the organization) as well as externallywith associated, current partners, and potential partners.Ability to delegate responsibility effectively.Sound professional judgment; resourcefulness; initiative; tact; discretion; thoroughness; integrity; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Ability to work in a fast-moving environment.Position requires walking, sitting and standing.
