Job description

VP, Client Partner

Merkle is a leading data-driven, technology-enabled, global performance marketing agency that specializes in the delivery of unique, personalized customer experiences across platforms and devices. For more than 30 years, Fortune 1000 companies and leading nonprofit organizations have partnered with Merkle to maximize the value of their customer portfolios. The agency's heritage in data, technology, and analytics forms the foundation for its unmatched skills in understanding consumer insights that drive people-based marketing strategies. Its combined strengths in performance media, customer experience, customer relationship management, loyalty, and enterprise marketing technology drive improved marketing results and competitive advantage.

The VP, Client Partner is a senior relationship leader responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of strategic clients within the Financial Services sector. This is a remote role reporting to the EVP, Senior Partner. This role combines consultative selling, executive relationship management, and cross functional leadership to drive measurable business outcomes.

You will partner with senior client stakeholders to shape and deliver integrated solutions across digital experience, data, marketing, and technology, bringing the full breadth of capabilities to solve complex business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a portfolio of Financial Services clients, driving retention, satisfaction, and revenue expansion
  • Identify and convert growth opportunities by aligning client needs with integrated solutions across digital experience, data, analytics, and marketing technology
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including C suite, acting as a strategic advisor across business and technology priorities
  • Lead consultative sales engagements, including discovery, solution development, and executive storytelling
  • Bring a holistic, cross capability approach, connecting digital experience, data, analytics, and marketing transformation into a cohesive client strategy
  • Partner with internal strategy, delivery, and technical teams to design and execute high impact solutions
  • Drive account planning, forecasting, and pipeline management to sustain long term growth
  • Navigate complex client environments, including compliance, regulatory considerations, and multiple stakeholder groups

Qualifications Required

  • 15 + years of experience in client leadership, consulting, or enterprise sales within a consultancy, agency, or digital services organization
  • Demonstrated experience working with Financial Services clients such as banking, insurance, wealth management, or fintech, including knowledge of industry dynamics and regulatory environments
  • Proven success managing and growing client portfolios, typically in the 5M to 20M range within complex, multi solution environments
  • Experience selling across digital experience, customer transformation, and marketing and technology ecosystems
  • Working knowledge of solutions such as CRM, CDP, analytics, content, and personalization
  • Track record of leading consultative sales cycles from problem definition through solution and close
  • Experience working in matrixed organizations and leading cross functional teams

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong Financial Services acumen with the ability to engage clients on industry specific challenges and opportunities
  • Consultative selling mindset focused on business outcomes rather than individual offerings
  • Ability to translate complex capabilities into clear, compelling value propositions
  • Executive presence with strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Strategic thinking paired with a hands on, solution oriented approach
  • Strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
  • Commercial acumen, including forecasting, pipeline management, and account planning
  • Adaptability and curiosity in a rapidly evolving digital and customer experience landscape
