Job description
Robots & Pencils is seeking a Vice President, Client Partnerships located in the Northeast of the United States to lead our client engagement strategy, ensuring long-term growth, retention, and value across our most important accounts. This role blends executive-level relationship management, business growth leadership, and strategic vision. You will own the client partnership function, oversee account management leaders, shaping our client engagement model, and driving sustainable revenue growth across industries.Â
As a member of the leadership team, you'll collaborate closely with delivery, practice, and business development leaders to ensure Robots & Pencils consistently delivers transformative solutions that strengthen client relationships and expand our impact.Â
What You'll Do
Client Leadership & Executive EngagementÂ
- Serve as executive sponsor for strategic accounts, building and maintaining C-level client relationships.Â
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients align business strategy with digital innovation and transformation opportunities.Â
- Lead client strategy reviews, roadmaps, and executive QBRs, ensuring alignment of Robots & Pencils' work with measurable business outcomes.Â
Craft & DeliveryÂ
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-phase engagements, ensuring alignment across scope, budget, timeline, and qualityÂ
- Identify and proactively manage dependencies, risks, scope changes, and escalations before they become blockers   Â
- Manage phased releases, production readiness, and transitions into operations and maintenance models   Â
- Bring an AI-forward mindset to your daily work, using tools like Claude to enhance delivery planning, reporting, and stakeholder communications  Â
Growth & Business DevelopmentÂ
- Own overall revenue growth, retention, and profitability targets across the client portfolio.Â
- Partner with sales and practice leads to identify new opportunities, shape proposals, and drive expansion in existing accounts.Â
- Negotiate executive-level agreements, renewals, and long-term partnerships.Â
- Develop and implement strategies to strengthen account penetration and expand Robots & Pencils' industry footprint.Â
Organizational LeadershipÂ
- Lead and develop the account management organization, including directors and senior managers.Â
- Establish scalable account management processes, frameworks, and playbooks across the company.Â
- Partner with delivery leadership to ensure consistent alignment between account strategy and delivery execution.Â
- Represent the client voice at the executive table, influencing Robots & Pencils' overall business strategy.Â
Strategic Planning & OperationsÂ
- Build multi-year account plans for top clients, aligning with their evolving needs and Robots & Pencils' growth goals.Â
- Monitor client portfolio health through KPIs such as revenue growth, retention, NPS, and profitability.Â
- Collaborate with finance, marketing, and operations to forecast revenue, plan resourcing, and shape go-to-market initiatives.Â
- Identify market and client trends, shaping Robots & Pencils' positioning and offerings.Â
 Required Skills & ExperienceÂ
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).Â
- 10+Â years in client-facing leadership roles within consulting, digital agency, or professional services organizations.Â
- 5+ years managing account management, client partnership, or delivery teams at scale.Â
- Proven success owning large account portfolios (multi-million-dollar revenue responsibility).Â
- Strong executive presence with ability to build trusted relationships at the C-suite level.Â
- Demonstrated ability to grow accounts, improve retention, and drive profitability.Â
- Expertise in contract negotiation, portfolio P&L management, and long-term account planning.Â
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional leadership (delivery, product, engineering, marketing).Â
- Experience in the utilities industry is strongly preferred.Â
- Experience with product manager, particularly of AI products, is a plus
