Director, Revenue Strategy & Ad Operations

Daily Mail | New York, NY (Hybrid)

Reports To: SVP, Ad Platform Operations | Department: Ads Business

About the Daily Mail

The Daily Mail is one of the world's most recognized media brands, reaching tens of millions of readers daily across digital, mobile, and print platforms. Known for bold journalism and unparalleled global reach, we are accelerating our digital transformation with a relentless focus on audience growth, innovation, and revenue diversification. Our U.S. business is a critical growth engine - and this role sits at the center of it.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Revenue Strategy & Ad Operations to lead the monetization intelligence function across our advertising business. This is a senior individual contributor and cross-functional leadership role for a commercially minded operator who thrives at the intersection of data, strategy, and execution. You will own pricing, inventory, and yield analytics end-to-end - translating complex supply and demand dynamics into decisions that directly drive revenue performance.

What You'll Own

Revenue Intelligence & Yield Optimization

  • Own the end-to-end revenue analytics function - modeling supply and demand dynamics, identifying monetization gaps, and delivering actionable insights that inform commercial strategy
  • Lead pricing strategy and inventory yield optimization across all ad products and placements, balancing revenue maximization with audience and user experience goals
  • Develop and maintain executive-grade reporting frameworks that provide leadership with a real-time view of advertising performance, pacing, and revenue trajectory
  • Translate data from Salesforce (CRM), AdPoint (OMS), Google Ad Manager, and other platforms into cohesive, decision-ready narratives for senior stakeholders

Strategic Partnership & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Sales, Finance, Product, and executive leadership - connecting revenue data to business priorities and growth initiatives
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, including board- and executive-level presentations
  • Drive alignment between commercial objectives and product roadmap by partnering with Engineering and Product teams to improve data infrastructure, reporting pipelines, and tooling

Operational Excellence

  • Proactively identify and close data quality gaps across the sales lifecycle, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all revenue reporting
  • Architect and scale analytics-driven processes that improve transparency and operational efficiency across the advertising organization
  • Evaluate and champion new tools, platforms, and methodologies that strengthen the team's analytical capabilities and competitive positioning
What You Bring
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in digital media, ad operations, or revenue strategy - with a track record of driving measurable commercial outcomes at a publisher or media platform
  • Deep fluency in digital advertising ecosystems: programmatic, direct, and yield management across display, video, and mobile environments
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel; experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or equivalent) and enterprise ad tech platforms (GAM, DFP, order management systems)
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data into clear executive narratives and strategic recommendations
  • Proven cross-functional influence - you build trust with Sales, Finance, Product, and Engineering stakeholders and drive alignment across competing priorities
  • Strong executive presence with polished written, verbal, and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to C-suite audiences
  • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset - you identify problems before they escalate and deliver solutions with urgency and precision
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $150,000-$190,000 USD Annually + Performance Bonus + Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with experience and will reflect the seniority and strategic scope of this role. The Daily Mail offers a comprehensive total rewards package including merit increases, incentive compensation, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and wellness programs, among others.

Our Commitment

The Daily Mail is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or disability. Reasonable accommodations will be provided throughout the recruitment process as needed.
