Celebrating 28 years of service, Vet Care Pet Clinic is a fast paced, one-doctor, family-owned veterinary hospital in West Garden Grove, CA. We provide full-service general practice veterinary care. The Veterinary Customer Service Representative is responsible for:  
  
Seeking a highly dependable, hard-working and flexible Veterinary Customer Service Representative for a fast-paced small animal practice. You will be the first and last contact that a client will have with the hospital and a key to creating first and lasting impressions. In this role you must have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, ability to handle financial issues, multi-task, a friendly attitude, and confidence to deal with stressful situations is a must.

Responsibilities: 
  • Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive, solution-oriented attitude. 
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system; answer client inquiries about basic animal care and routine procedures and questions about veterinary services and products; and provide knowledgeable advice about wellness, prevention, and diseases. 
  • Screen and route call to appropriate staff; take and deliver messages promptly to appropriate staff. 
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines and make surgery and appointment confirmation calls. 
  • Proper documentation in medical records, the details discussed during client conservations include the date, time, critical points of the discussion, and any required information. 
  • Ability to explain invoices to show value for care provided, stating all services and products supplied before the total; echo recommendations when checking out clients. 
  • Collect payment when services are rendered. 
  • Check and ensure accurate client addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses, and scan appropriate new documents into patient records. 
  • Fill prescriptions and provide routine administration instructions to clients. 
  • Advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, pre-anesthetic testing, pain management, shampoos, home dental products, and other retail items.
