Job description

Company Description

We are a small office headquartered near downtown Asheville. Our team lives and breathes this city, and our values have grown from that. We've asked some of our team members to share why they like working here, and their responses included some of the same things over and over: Flexibility, small family-like office, team- and results-oriented (without being "corporate"), a management team that is accessible, genuinely supporting each other, high quality of life, work-life balance, and our dog-friendly office.

If you are looking for a results-driven company that also feels like family, who holds each other accountable while also holding each others' hands in times of need, and who sincerely strives to be the very best in all that we do - you'll love working with us at Carolina Mornings!

Job Description

Greetings!

We are looking for an energetic and upbeat person to join our small family-like company! This position is eligible for working remotely, and we are putting a premium on the right person, not the right location. Please read the "Instructions for Hiring" and "Requirements" sections below to be eligible for this position.

**Vacation Rental Reservations Experience is Required, please do not apply if you have not worked in this field before.**

Who we are:

We are a vacation rental company specializing in beautiful Asheville, NC and we are seeking an amazing team member for our reservations department. We call this position "Vacation Planner" because that's what our reservations agents do: help our guests plan the best Asheville vacation by guiding them through the vacation rental options.

With over 100 unique rental properties in the region, you would need to learn the in's and out's of each one, and accurately represent it to our guests via telephone calls, web chats, and emails. We're always working to ensure our guests are appropriately matched with the options that best meet their needs and budget.

This is a computer and phone based position, with a regular shift. Please Note: the seat we are hiring for today may include weekends and evenings as part of the normal weekly shift. A Weekend On-Call shift is required in a rotation. Suitable applicants should be comfortable in the Windows computing environment while moving quickly between different windows and applications. Examples include being able to handle multiple web chats at once, or typing notes into the system while on the phone with a guest. Sharp computer skills are a must!

Applicants also need to have a keen attention to detail, as there is a strong administrative component to this position. Vacation Planners are responsible for processing lease agreements, payments, guest questions, sales, customer service, guest complaints, and more. We work thoroughly, leaving nothing to chance.

Experience in the Vacation Rental industry is preferred. Don't worry, we don't do hard sales! However, our Vacation Planners do need to help guests understand how our properties can best meet their needs, manage leads, and follow up with potential guest inquiries. We have monthly performance goals, with incentives for exceeding them. Our team works hard to achieve goals consistently and efficiently!

Our company is driven for success and tight-knit! Our core values include building genuine and sincere relationship, and we value each member of our team very much. We have a thorough interview process to ensure that candidates best match the duties and the team.

Our core values - which we live and breathe - are:

1. Work-Life Balance

2. Passion and Pride in All We Do

3. Nurturing Genuine & Sincere Relationships with Guests, Homeowners, Team Members, and Community.

4. Creativity, Innovation, Fluidity

5. Integrity, Honesty, & Professionalism

6. Teamwork & Accountability to Get The Job Done!

If we sound like the kind of company you'd like to work for, get cracking and follow the "Instructions For Applying" below. Missing these steps means you didn't bother to read about this job and/or you aren't thorough. Impress us! ;)

  • $13/hour training, then $14.00/hour after training. After the first year, the position increases to $15/hour!

  • Up to $200/month additional based on meeting/exceeding goals. (Meeting growth goals averages around $100.)

  • 30-40 hours/week

  • Retirement Plan (with matching funds)

  • Paid Time Off (Vacation Days)

  • No calls to the office or walk-in applications, please. We appreciate the enthusiasm and desire to put a face to a resume, but we really aren't set up to receive resumes in person, or to answer questions about the position on the phone. The instructions provided below are the only way to appropriately apply for this job. Thanks for understanding! :)

Instructions for applying:

  • Please respond to this ad with your resume in PDF format. Include a cover letter that explains why you feel you'd be the best fit for our team, and what you love most about Asheville. Include two paragraphs about how you'd describe Asheville to someone who has never been here.

  • We will be in touch with those selected for the next step within a week of receipt of the resume and personality results.

Requirements for Remote Work:

  • A quiet and dedicated work space free from distractions that will be used during working hours.

  • Access to a reliable and sufficient computer system with current anti-virus software and broadband internet to be able to complete the daily assignments. Dual monitors is recommended.

  • Access to a telephone system (headset preferred) that provides high-quality voice so that you can take and make calls from a remote location.

  • A webcam and microphone solution so that you may participate in regular face-to-face teleconferencing meetings.

  • May be required to travel to Asheville, NC to attend training and company-wide meetings.

  • Please note that working from home is not a replacement for childcare, as this position will require your focus throughout the scheduled shift.

This is our first time offering this position remotely, as it has traditionally been an in-office role. We are opening it to a remote position in the hopes of finding the perfect fit for our company, even if they aren't located in Asheville. We look forward to collaborating to make this endeavor successful for both us and you!
