What does a vacation planner do?

As a vacation planner, you help individuals or groups plan travel itineraries. Your duties vary depending on the needs of your clients, but you usually help make hotel reservations and book tours and tickets while planning their trip. As an advisor, you can work in partnership with a travel agent, or you can function as a travel agent as well as a planner. Your responsibilities include assessing the needs of each client, defining their travel budget, and discussing their expectations. In this career, you may specialize in a specific area, such as cruises, adventure travel, luxury travel, or international travel.
