Job description

UX Specialist

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a UX Strategist with at least three years of professional experience to help create clear, intuitive, and user-centered digital experiences.


In this role, you will combine content strategy and user research to understand audience needs, improve how information is structured and communicated, and help product teams make informed design decisions. You will collaborate with product owners, designers, developers, researchers, and client stakeholders to connect user needs, organizational goals, and technical considerations.


This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in content strategy and user research who wants to expand their experience across the broader UX discipline. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

What You'll Work On:

  • Develop and improve user-centered content for digital products and services.

  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and content testing.

  • Synthesize research findings into clear insights, recommendations, and design opportunities.

  • Evaluate content for clarity, consistency, usability, accessibility, and relevance.

  • Contribute to information architecture, content models, taxonomies, navigation, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.

  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, developers, subject-matter experts, and stakeholders to align user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

  • Present research findings, content strategies, and UX recommendations to project teams, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Participate in discovery activities, workshops, usability testing, and Agile product development.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in content strategy, content design, user research, or UX

  • Experience planning, creating, organizing, and improving content for digital products or services

  • Experience conducting user research using qualitative and quantitative methods

  • Experience translating research findings into actionable content, product, or design recommendations

  • Experience with writing, editing, synthesis, and storytelling

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating with business, technical, and client stakeholders

  • Knowledge of user-centered design, human-centered design, and digital accessibility, including Section 508 and WCAG requirements and standards

  • Bachelor's degree


Nice If You Have:

  • Experience working with SharePoint or enterprise content management systems

  • Experience with information architecture, taxonomy, navigation design, or content modeling

  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, user flows, or service blueprints

  • Experience with tools such as Figma, Mural, Jira, Confluence, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
