GENERAL FUNCTION:
The User Experience Manager sets the vision and pioneers the pathways that will create consistent and repeated wins for the UX Design Team, Fifth Third Bank and the customers and communities we serve. The work of the User Experience Manager creates the conditions for success by setting standards and measures across the UX Team for conceptual design, prototyping, and testing of user interfaces and functionality. It is the expectation of this role to constantly improve the quality thinking and output from our people, processes, and technology.
The work of the User Experience Manager will directly result in the thoughtful activation of the Fifth Third Bank UX Design capability, keeping sharp focus on bringing exceptional customer experiences to life. Importantly, this role will drive maturity and understanding around UX Design within the Bank.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Management of the day-to-day resourcing and support of each member of the UX Design team. Lead, influence and collaborate with other senior leadership, product management, application development, enterprise architecture, marketing, and other key teams.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to understand business goals to inform and execute a strategy to meet and exceed user needs and deliver value to the bank. Solve complex problems while mentoring and growing interface designers, developers and external vendors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with leaders across the Lines of Business.
  • Establish a strong, proactive and strategic partnership with leadership and project teams to understand and collaborate on driving roadmaps, design, and improving the overall end user experience.
  • Develop and implement the operating model for the UX Design Team.
  • Facilitate collaboration across strategic solution partners to gather, prioritize and analyze project or program levels of effort estimates.
  • Influence and energize others toward the common vision and goal.
  • Manage resources to support development lifecycles.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth while recognizing and rewarding employees' accomplishments. Assist in the development of appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • 9 + years of experience in innovation and/or strategy or design with a proven record of increasing responsibility and achievement.
  • Strong innovation and/or creative portfolio that reflects experience level.
  • Thorough knowledge of customer-centric principles, product and service innovation, design, and development.
  • Able to demonstrate proven success in the development and successful execution of innovative new offerings, innovation roadmaps and/or pipelines and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to proactively find solutions.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills which are effective and impactful to a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated management experience.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
  • Extended viewing of CRT screen.
