Now Hiring: Business Development - Power Generation
(Business Development | Power Generation Sales | Generator Solutions | Technical Sales)
Mustang Cat's Power Systems Division is seeking a highly experienced Business Development professional to grow our generator and power-generation business across Texas. In this role, you will identify new opportunities, cultivate strong customer relationships, and drive revenue growth across the commercial, industrial, and utility markets.
What You'll Do as a Business Development Representative:
As a key member of the Power Systems team, you'll lead strategic sales efforts and serve as a trusted technical resource. Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute strategies to expand generator and power-system sales
  • Identify new commercial, industrial, and utility customers throughout Texas
  • Build and maintain relationships with EPCs, contractors, engineers, distributors, and end users
  • Manage a robust sales pipeline from initial outreach through proposal support and closing
  • Conduct site visits, needs assessments, and preliminary load or project evaluations
  • Work closely with engineering, service, and project teams to ensure accurate and timely proposals
  • Monitor generator technologies, industry trends, regulations, and pricing
  • Represent Mustang Cat at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
  • Achieve or exceed revenue, territory, and growth targets

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in power generation, standby generators, CHP, microgrids, or related power solutions
  • Solid understanding of generator sizing, controls, switchgear, and power-distribution infrastructure
  • Proven success in business development or technical sales in the power-generation sector
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer-relationship skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and travel throughout Texas

Strongly Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with major generator OEMs (Cat, Cummins, Kohler, MTU, etc.)
  • Established relationships within industrial, oil & gas, commercial construction, or utility markets
  • Ability to read electrical one-lines, spec sheets, and technical drawings
  • Experience with long-cycle project development or complex procurement processes
