Job description

As a Private Banker, you will be responsible for providing a world class member service experience to our high-net-worth members while overseeing their financial activities. Monitor an existing deposit portfolio greater than $25M with a minimum of 50 households as well as build own portfolio by developing relationships with new members. Grow the average preferred service client products per household and new deposits. Develop relationships with members, offer knowledgeable financial and banking advice, provide banking services such as personal cash management, secured and unsecured credit, investment management and interest services. Collaborate with various internal departments to on the members behalf. Accountable for staying well informed of market conditions, wealth planning concepts, banking concepts, real estate and business opportunities for clients. conduct research to determine good opportunities to meet private banking revenue goals. Keep current with market updates, daily financial news, and maintain knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation and regulations affecting banking and member interaction to ensure that all transactions are legal.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

40%            Identify prospects to invite into the Preferred Services Program and manage the selected members' credit union accounts. Build relationships with external and internal members to ensure their full satisfaction. Accountable for obtaining a high-level and in-depth understanding of the Credit Union, the Preferred Services Program, Interra Vision, the Credit Union's products and services, as well as the Credit Union systems to include, but not limited to, CORE, CRM, digital services, and small business lending systems. Maintains integrity of program by targeting only qualified prospects and referring unqualified clients to the appropriate branch. 

15%            Provide an exceptional level of urgency to client needs. This would mean being an extraordinary problem solver to guarantee whatever the member need or pain point is, is resolved if possible. Provide oversight that banking items are being complete by Interra team members, as well as proper follow up. 

15%            Schedule bi-annual meetings with members to advise and consult with the members to assist with meeting their financial needs and goals, explaining the types of financial services available, educating them about investment options and potential risks and recommending investments. 

10%            Closely monitor the performance of member accounts, to ensure that the accounts are behaving positively and meeting member needs. They need to be aware of both the clients’ goals, income and spending to manage the portfolio. 

10%            Responsible for providing day to day training and support to other team members: may include providing guidance on deposit related issues, specific member issues and queries. Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations from issues that have been occurring with preferred service members. 

5%               Coordinates entire credit approval process for select members. Work directly with treasury services, commercial and wealth management to ensure clients have a full relationship experience with banking. 

5%               Completes all required credit union courses as needed to satisfy training requirements. 

--                 Requires a high level of community involvement which could include Chamber Events, Non-Profit Events, and other opportunities to promote the preferred services program within the local community. 

--                 Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience 

8+ years customer service experience within the financial service industry. Specific experience should include the working knowledge of investments (IRA's, IMA's, Annuities, Etc.) Knowledge of Real Estate and Sales Force. 

Education / Certifications / Licenses

This level of knowledge is acquired through completion of a required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, Business Administration or related field (Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of education requirement). FINRA Series 6, 63 registrations, and IAR (65/66 or appropriate designation) are preferred. State Life, Health, disability & Variable Licenses preferred. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Specific experience should include the working knowledge of investments (IRA's, IMA's, Annuities, Etc.).

Physical Requirements 

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.

  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
