Summary
The Transportation Sr. Specialist - Ecommerce's primary responsibilities are to support Lowe's growing digital presence online by engaging with Lowe's Digital Team, Replenishment, Vendors, Transportation Providers, and Lowe's Stores and DC's. They will support these teams by conducting analysis to identify optimal transportation solutions and by resolving exceptions that arise. The focus of this position will be on Ecommerce orders, providing innovative transportation solutions, measuring the performance of the transportation providers to make sure they meet and/or exceed Lowe's requirements. The Transportation Sr. Specialist - ECommerce is the front-line owner who manages shipment optimization, carrier performance, tracking freight movements, and providing other daily operational support. The Transportation Sr. Specialist - ECommerce is expected to be the subject matter expert for their respective area and to represent Lowe's Transportation in communication with Carriers, Vendors, Lowe's Digital Team, and Supply Chain cross-functional teams. They analyze and provide transportation recommendations on service and cost opportunities that exist the areas they are accountable for.
Responsibility Statements
• Leverage and optimize carrier resources to vendor requirements with accountability to on-time delivery, freight cost, and
  
vendor/carrier relationships.
• Develop and exercise relationships with multiple business partners in Digital, Inventory Fulfillment, Demand Planning, Network Flow, and Freight Pay to effectively manage freight flow.
• Provides communication and direction to stakeholders regarding seasonal surge planning, carrier capacity commitments, mode selection, and transportation priorities.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on all routing software functionality related to transportation and shipment planning.
• Uses Transportation Systems and Business Intelligence to Manage flow and to maximize efficiency of all shipments to meet and exceed operating goals of cost, service, capacity, carrier and vendor performance.
• Initiates, develops, and implements continuous improvement activities as they identify opportunities to improve operating metrics and performance.
• Collaborates cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders, internal and external to Lowe's.
• Develop and present solutions to Lowes Digital Team, Inventory Fulfillment, Distribution Centers and carrier partners to resolve immediate and long term transportation challenges.
• Represents Transportation in communication with a wide range of business units and external partners to collaborate on the planning and execution of large scale initiatives.
• Negotiates equipment needs necessary to support the operational requirements of Lowe's.
• Provides guidance and communication regarding committed volume expectations to each carrier.
• Holds transportation providers accountable for meeting or exceeding pre-defined performance metrics.
• Effectively completes projects independently or within a team as well as other work assigned by Manager.
• Strong communication skills are required both, written and verbal.
What you Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years' professional experience in Parcel Transportation, LTL Transportation or Logistics
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• 1 year experience with Transportation Routing & Optimization Systems
• Familiarity with transportation cost modeling (Channel Analysis) and enterprise-wide transportation control software
