GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

As our Transportation Analyst, youโ€™ll be the analytical engine powering smarter transportation decisions across our national fulfillment network. Youโ€™ll turn transportation data into actionable insightsโ€”optimizing cost, improving service performance, and helping our operations run efficiently from dock to doorstep. From carrier performance to network modeling, youโ€™ll bring clarity to complexity and insights to action.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analytics Expert: Analyze transportation data across LTL, FTL, and freight operations to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Dashboard Builder: Develop KPI dashboards and automated reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into transportation performance.
  • Performance Monitor: Track key metrics like cost per mile, utilization, carrier performance, SLA compliance, and accessorial spend to drive improvements.
  • Cost Optimizer: Support budgeting, forecasting, and transportation spend analysis to improve financial performance and identify savings.
  • Rate Analyst: Evaluate carrier rates, bid proposals, and pricing structures to support procurement and carrier selection decisions.
  • Network Optimizer: Conduct modeling and โ€œwhat-ifโ€ analysis to improve routing, load planning, and overall network efficiency.
  • Freight Auditor: Identify billing discrepancies, audit freight invoices, and drive cost recovery opportunities.
  • Cross-Team Collaborator: Partner with Transportation, Operations, Finance, and Customer Service teams to align insights with execution.
  • Systems Improver: Support TMS enhancements, reporting automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Market Aware: Stay informed on transportation trends, fuel impacts, and regulatory considerations affecting operations

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • 2โ€“5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain analytics, or freight operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting transportation data.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, data modeling).
  • Experience analyzing freight rates, cost structures, and operational KPIs.
  • Familiarity with LTL and FTL transportation operations.
  • Experience with dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar preferred).
  • Knowledge of TMS systems and transportation analytics platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting.
