About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Transportation Routing Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will design, analyze, and optimize transportation routes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of goods. You'll leverage data, routing systems, and strong collaboration with operations teams to improve fleet utilization, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.

What You'll Do
Route Planning & Optimization
  • Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and long-term delivery routes
  • Adjust schedules using routing and logistics software
  • Evaluate customer delivery requirements and service commitments
  • Support capacity planning and fleet utilization initiatives

Data Analysis & Performance
  • Analyze transportation data to improve efficiency and reduce mileage
  • Track key KPIs including on-time delivery, cost per mile, and route utilization
  • Identify trends and recommend actionable improvements
  • Create reports and present insights to leadership

Operations & Collaboration
  • Partner with transportation managers, dispatchers, warehouse teams, and drivers
  • Support execution of routing plans and troubleshoot operational challenges
  • Assist with budgeting and transportation cost management

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and company transportation policies
  • Support contingency planning for weather, traffic disruptions, and equipment issues

Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor route performance and drive optimization initiatives
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process efficiencies

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in transportation, routing, logistics, or supply chain
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and routing tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
  • Ability to interpret large datasets and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with routing tools such as Roadnet, Omnitracs, Descartes, or Paragon
  • Knowledge of distribution center operations
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
  • APICS/ASCM, CLTD, or similar certifications
