As a Senior Engineer, Solutions Engineering, you will play a critical role in designing innovative transportation and logistics solutions that support new business opportunities and the growth of existing customers across both Last Mile and Middle Mile operations.
In this role, you will leverage data analytics, network modeling, routing technologies, and pricing strategies to develop scalable solutions that improve efficiency, service performance, and profitability. You'll partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership to create customer-focused solutions that drive value for our customers and support RXO's growth objectives. What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Develop data-driven solution designs and pricing models by analyzing customer requirements, operational data, network constraints, and business assumptions across Last Mile and Middle Mile operations.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Account Management, and Leadership teams to create scalable transportation solutions that support customer growth opportunities and align with business objectives.
  • Lead the analytical components of proposal development, including data validation, network modeling, routing analysis, mapping, pricing, and documentation of solution assumptions and methodologies.
  • Create network analyses and optimization recommendations using routing, mapping, and business intelligence tools to improve solution design, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Evaluate transportation networks, service areas, linehaul movements, delivery territories, and operational workflows to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
  • Develop pricing strategies, business cases, and scenario analyses that balance customer requirements with operational capabilities and profitability objectives.
  • Prepare and present solution designs, pricing recommendations, and proposal materials to internal stakeholders and prospective customers, clearly communicating assumptions, methodologies, and expected outcomes.
  • Manage multiple projects and proposal timelines simultaneously, ensuring high-quality deliverables and on-time completion.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing engineering methodologies, analytical capabilities, and solution design processes.

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • 2+ years of engineering, transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations, or other analytical experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications and technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex information to a variety of audiences.

It'd be great if you also have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering preferred; Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or a related field also considered.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Last Mile, Middle Mile, Dedicated Transportation, Distribution, or Logistics Operations.
  • Experience with transportation routing, network optimization, capacity planning, and transportation modeling.
  • Experience supporting customer proposals, RFP responses, pricing analysis, and solution design initiatives.
  • Experience using business intelligence, mapping, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, GIS, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of transportation routing software, optimization tools, mileage applications, and network design methodologies.
