Job description

Provides business-related support for the operations process to ensure catalog quality for correct business steering and provides management information and operational analysis. As a Coordinator, the incumbent in this position applies advanced skills, serving as a resource in resolving complex, non-routine problems, and issues. They may orient, train, and check the work of other team members.

  • Associates Degree and 2 years' experience in the Maritime Industry or the equivalentย 
    combination of education and experience preferred.ย 
  • Understands most shipping terms; can use a dictionary to find terms not recognized. Isย 
    willing to clarify shipping terms unique to a location. Understands routings, schedules andย 
    general practices of various countries, carriers, ports, and terminals. ย 
  • Knows what type of equipment must be made available at what locations, depending onย 
    shipping schedules and types of goods shipped. ย 
  • Understands the requirements for using climate-controlled containers in shipping specialย 
    goods. Knows where to source special units and generator sets and the requirements forย 
    their placement on ships, handling by ground transportation companies and repair. ย 
  • Understands requirements for maintenance and repair of shipping equipment and isย 
    skilled in repair. Knows what various repairs require in time, procedure, and cost. Skilledย 
    in identifying quality repair work and that which is unacceptable. ย 
  • Proficient in MS Office (e.g., MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and other softwareย 
    appropriate to work demands.
  • Ensure weekly maintenance and quarterly system updates are accurate and up to dateย 
    within NUS, as it relates to costsย 
  • Provide ad-hoc statistics from all relevant systems to support analysis from Managementย 
    and Operations Staffย 
  • Coordinate and perform maintenance of Base Route Cataloguesย 
  • Create and update rates within the online rate system, and coordinate maintenance ofย 
    vendor hierarchy in organization catalogsย 
  • Analyze costs and volumes per vendorย 
  • Superuser for Compass Operations and train or organize training for other users inย 
    Compass Operationsย 
  • Maintain bank holidays and steering catalogs for Transport Dispatch Centerย 
  • Maintain equipment supply costsย 
  • Maintain standard cost (ad-hoc CSC, chassis standard cost, EQP standard cost, etc.)ย 
  • Routing network maintenance in accordance with PREX - Define base routes, location,ย 
    missing inland routing, GEO coordinates, inland restrictions, and re-define locationย 
    structureย 
  • Responsible for the execution of the ICCL, follow-up on the exemption with other areas,ย 
    and proper documentation and approvals in the system.ย 
  • Ensure compliance with QEM standards in RNA Operations.ย 
  • Facilitate the implementation and communication with recommendations from corporateย 
    departments (Audit, QEM, etc.).ย 
  • Perform quality audits and validations.ย
