Job description

This is skilled professional driver management work responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all transportation logistics for a live entertainment production; ensures the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of performers, crew members, support staff, equipment, staging and support infrastructure between tour locations; requires advanced logistics coordination, regulatory compliance expertise, crisis management skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, constantly changing touring environment; create load schedules and optimize vehicle allocation for equipment, costumes, props, rigging, lighting, sound systems, and set pieces; manage fleet operations including tractor trailers, bunkhouses, support vehicles and vans; negotiate and manage contracts with transportation vendors; monitor fuel usage, maintenance schedules, and repair logistics; ensure vehicle inspections are conducted and documented per regulatory requirements; oversee compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements; maintain appropriate permits; implement and enforce transportation safety protocols for crew and drivers; coordinate insurance coverage for vehicles and equipment; track transportation-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance and freight costs; identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or efficiency; plan load-in and load-out sequencing; supervise drivers, logistics coordinators; ensure drivers are properly licensed and certified and perform additional duties as needed or at the request of the Supervisor and/or Executive Team.


CREDENTALS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree with a concentration in Logistics, Transportation Management, Supply Chain Management, or closely related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Must have a minimum of (5) years of experience in transportation management, touring logistics, or live event production logistics OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale touring productions preferred.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and fleet tracking systems.
  • Hold a valid driver license (CDL preferred).
