Job description

METRO PARK WAREHOUSES, LLC

We are looking to add a Transportation Dispatcher to our Transportation Department at Metro Park Warehouses. A Dispatcher at Metro Park will effectively communicate with customers and coordinate freight deliveries and shipments. They will work closely with drivers and carriers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Pay: $22-$25 per hour

Location: 6901 Stilwell Street Kansas City, MO

Shift: 8am- 4:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule drivers to make freight deliveries and collect shipments/packages.
  • Locate backhauls as needed.
  • Communicate with customers and brokers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
  • Plan pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
  • Prepare dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
  • Maintain records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times.
  • Keep track of transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply.
  • Review drivers' logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.
  • Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Log customer shipping schedules and complaints.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience with dispatching trucks is preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and GPS Systems
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions
