Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients as a Transport Coordinator at Perimeter Behavioral of Missouri - Saint Robert. In this role, the Transport Coordinator will be responsible for transporting adolescents facing behavioral challenges and medically complex physical conditions. The Transport Coordinator will ensure safe and respectful movement of patients while providing a supportive environment that adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Safely transport adolescents to and from various departments within the hospital, including diagnostic areas, therapy sessions, and patient rooms, while ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Assist patients during transport by providing guidance, reassurance, and support to alleviate anxiety or discomfort.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to coordinate transport schedule and respond promptly to transport requests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized transport area and ensure equipment, such as stretchers and wheelchairs, is in good working condition and properly sanitized.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions during transport, reporting any significant change or concerns to appropriate healthcare personnel.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Missouri Driver's License with appropriate endorsement/s.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Experience in a mental health setting (preferably with adolescents), and knowledge of child/adolescent growth and development, and the ability to relate to adolescents with substance abuse or mental health problems is preferred.
