How much do part time transport jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 12, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time transport in the United States is $20.14, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $14.90 and $22.36 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What company in Texas is paying truckers $14000 a week?

Part time transport roles in trucking typically do not pay $14,000 per week, as such high earnings are usually associated with full-time, long-haul trucking positions or owner-operator roles with significant experience and freight volume. Most part-time trucking jobs offer lower weekly pay, often based on miles driven or hours worked, and do not reach these high income levels.

Can a truck driver make $200,000 a year?

Truck drivers, including those in transportation roles, can potentially earn $200,000 annually, especially with experience, specialized skills, or working for high-paying companies and routes. However, such earnings are typically achieved through overtime, bonuses, or owner-operator status rather than standard part-time positions, which usually pay less. Most part-time transport jobs do not reach this income level.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Transport Worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Transport Worker, you generally need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, and sometimes a high school diploma. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, route planning apps, and digital delivery tracking tools is commonly required. Reliability, time management, and strong customer service skills help individuals stand out in this role. These skills ensure safe, timely, and efficient transport services while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

What types of schedules or shifts can I expect in a part-time transport position?

Part-time transport roles often offer flexible scheduling, with shifts that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on the organization's needs. You might be assigned consistent routes or be on-call to fill in as needed, which can provide a good work-life balance for those seeking supplemental income. It's common to work independently most of the time, but clear communication with dispatchers and other drivers is essential. Understanding the typical shift structure and expectations can help you determine if the role fits your lifestyle.

What skills do part-time drivers need?

Part-time drivers need good driving skills, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. They should have good time management, customer service skills, and familiarity with navigation tools like GPS. Physical fitness and the ability to work flexible hours are also important.

What are part time transport jobs?

Part time transport jobs involve transporting goods or passengers on a flexible or reduced-hour schedule, rather than full-time. These roles can include driving vans, trucks, buses, taxis, or working for delivery services. Many part time transport positions offer flexible shifts, making them ideal for students, retirees, or anyone needing work-life balance. The main responsibilities typically include ensuring the safe and timely delivery of items or people, following traffic laws, and maintaining the vehicle in good condition.

What transportation job pays the most?

In transportation, truck drivers, especially those operating heavy haul or specialized freight, tend to earn the highest wages among part-time roles. Factors such as experience, certifications, and the type of cargo handled can influence pay rates, with some specialized roles offering higher compensation. However, full-time positions generally pay more than part-time roles in this field.
