SYNOPSIS

The Military Transition Support & Project Manager leads workforce development initiatives that connect transitioning service members, veterans, reservists, and military spouses with meaningful career opportunities in Alabama. This position serves as a key liaison between military communities, employers, and workforce partners while managing strategic workforce development projects across the state. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, self-driven professional with exceptional project management and communication skills, a strong understanding of military culture, and a passion for helping individuals successfully transition into civilian careers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trainee Recruitment & Placement:

• Source, screen, and evaluate military-affiliated candidates.
• Coordinate and manage interview processes and job offers.
• Represent AIDT at job fairs and recruiting events.
• Develop strong relationships with candidates and employers.
• Define trainee selection criteria and maintain compliance with employment laws.
• Develop and place recruitment advertisements.
• Organize application collection, interviews, and candidate communications.
• Determine class size and facilitate training placement.

Program Development:

• Conduct job/task analyses to develop training plans and lesson outlines.
• Recruit, select, and train instructional personnel.
• Coordinate training resources and instructional materials.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with company reps, government officials, and staff.
• Negotiate and administer MOUs in alignment with AIDT policies and financial protocols.
• Create project timelines based on client staffing needs.
• Collaborate with federal and state programs for project implementation.
• Build partnerships with military installations and personnel.

Training Program Administration:

• Manage multiple concurrent training projects.
• Oversee AIDT resources for assigned programs.
• Evaluate trainees and instructors; address performance issues as needed.
• Revise and update training programs for continuous improvement.
• Ensure program compliance with AIDT guidelines.
• Provide regular reporting to the Military Transition Manager.
• Travel frequently in and out of state as necessary.

Planning and Administration:

• Maintain and document project schedules, outlines, reports, and invoices.
• Utilize AIDT information systems and tools for data entry and communication.

Special Projects:

• Accept and manage the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Lead and support special initiatives and assignments as directed.

Work Habits:

• Comply with all policies and procedures as set out in the AIDT Policy Manual.
• Manage AIDT resources within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Coordinate multiple development and training projects concurrently.
• Travel in and out of state as required to perform job duties.
• Comply with AIDT policy regarding attendance. (Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of military terminology, culture, and procedures.
• Familiarity with military transition assistance programs and resources.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel extensively (in and out of state).
• Independent decision-making capabilities with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of federal and labor laws related to recruitment and training.
• Knowledge of HR procedures in business and industrial settings.
• Basic understanding of technical processes.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Skilled in developing and administering technical training programs.
• Strong evaluation skills for both people and programs.
• Ability to set and meet deadlines and handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to follow AIDT and State of Alabama policies and procedures.
• Ability to interact professionally with company representatives, public officials, trainees, coworkers, and the general public.
• Proficient in using automated systems and digital tools.
• Ability to comprehend, communicate, and deliver recruitment and training results through Applicant Tracking System, Project Management Systems, and Learning Management Systems.
• Confident presenting to groups in classroom and hands-on environments.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Adherence to legal and organizational policies and procedures.
• High situational awareness and professional conduct.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based environment.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum four years of military experience and Baccalaureate Degree from a duly accredited institution, preferably in appropriate area of specialization. All minimum qualifications outlined in AIDT’s Policy Manual will apply. Additionally, the selected applicant must have a valid Alabama driver’s license and meet minimum policy requirements to be insured to operate AIDT vehicles.

Salary and General:

Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C3L salary schedule, within a range of $61,431 – $80,486. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.

Criminal Background Check:

The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $29.67 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $29.67 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
