Our client, a growing and dynamic manufacturing organization with over 80 years in business, is adding an HR Generalist to its team. Work/life balance. This is an on-site position in Portland, TN, with a M-F 8:00-4:30 schedule. Great benefits package. The salary is up to $70,000 plus a discretionary bonus. This company is a well-oiled machine with very few HR issues. They have long-tenured employees and offer cookouts, picnics, contests, and more. Permanent direct hire.

Overview of the HR Generalist:

  • The HR Generalist will assist with the hiring process by helping management to determine staffing levels, coordinating job posts, responding to inquiries for those seeking employment, scheduling, and participating in interviews, and conducting reference checks and background checks if necessary.
  • Coordination of the onboarding process by conducting new hire orientations and entry of all associated data into HRIS.
  • Support employees as a main point of contact on several subjects, including call-ins, benefits administration, employee relations, workman's comp, etc.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Process paperwork for all leaves of absence, including FMLA, personal, military, etc.
  • Understand current employment laws and regulations and communicate those to employees.
  • Investigate employee issues and concerns and assist with resolutions.
  • Assist management with an active role in our safety and quality (ISO) programs. Duties will include coordinating and leading training, assisting in audit programs, and collaborating with other departments to develop and implement continuous improvements that drive safety and quality behavior.
