Join Life Fitness / Hammer Strength as an on-site Human Resources Generalist in Owatonna, Minnesota, where you'll help build the team create some of the world's most recognized fitness equipment brands. Partnering with leaders across our manufacturing operation, you'll lead hourly recruiting, manage staffing agency relationships, and provide front-line HR support for approximately 400-450 team members. Your work will directly impact our ability to attract, develop, and retain the talent that keeps our operation running every day while advancing our mission to empower healthier lives around the world.

As our Human Resources Generalist - Manufacturing, you will:

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly manufacturing positions.

  • Manage staffing agency partnerships and contingent workforce programs to meet production staffing needs.

  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, recruiting strategies, and staffing priorities.

  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires.

  • Serve as a trusted resource for team members and leaders regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, and workplace concerns.

  • Investigate and resolve team member relations issues with professionalism, consistency, and confidentiality.

  • Coach supervisors and managers on performance management, communication, attendance, and HR best practices.

  • Support team member engagement initiatives and culture-building activities.

  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

  • Support HR reporting, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Provide backup support for payroll and timekeeping processes as needed.

  • Manage workers' compensation medical claims and partner with injured team members, leaders, and medical providers to support safe and timely return-to-work plans.

What Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is looking for in our Human Resources Generalist - Manufacturing:

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or similar operational environment.

  • Experience recruiting hourly manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution team members.

  • Experience managing staffing agency relationships and contingent workforce programs.

  • Knowledge of team member relations practices and employment law.

  • Strong communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience with Workday, UKG, or similar HRIS systems.

  • SHRM or HRCI certification.

Work Environment

This position is based on-site in Owatonna, Minnesota and requires regular presence throughout the manufacturing facility. The role may occasionally support off-shift recruiting, onboarding, team member meetings, and business needs. Eye and hearing protection are required in designated production areas.

The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $66,500 - $95,000 annually.The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Owatonna, MN and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength's Production Bonus Plan, which offers the potential to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics. Bonus eligibility is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
