WHAT YOU'LL DO
As part of the Agronomy team, your essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with directing and implementing Dormie Network agronomy policies and procedures.
- Support daily maintenance operations of the golf course and associated grounds, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, practice facilities, open spaces, wooded areas, and unused acreage.
- Supervise maintenance crews performing daily maintenance and project work, assisting with manual labor as needed.
- Instruct equipment operators on the proper operation and care of mowing and maintenance equipment.
- Assist with and participate in pesticide applications, including calibration and operation of application equipment under supervision.
- Support operation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems, including pumps, wells, and automatic controls.
- Assist with hiring, training, and onboarding of agronomy staff as directed by department leadership.
- Monitor compliance with departmental purchasing policies and procedures.
- Support scheduling and coordination of maintenance operations and staff assignments.
- Assist with maintaining maintenance equipment, golf car fleet, and agronomy facilities in proper working condition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate a courteous, service-oriented demeanor when interacting with members, guests, and staff.
- Adheres to all Dormie Network's policies, procedures and service standards.
- Work collaboratively with all employees to support an efficient and positive team environment.
WHO YOU ARE
- Possesses foundational knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, including turf management for greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
- Demonstrates understanding of seeding, fertilization, soil conditioning, irrigation, drainage, and pest management practices.
- Exhibits developing administrative, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides day-to-day supervision of maintenance staff as assigned.
- Assists with training and oversight of crew members under direction of agronomy leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field required.
- Minimum of two years of golf course maintenance experience, apprenticeship, or assistant-level experience preferred.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking, including on uneven terrain.
- Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and maneuver equipment as needed.
- Ability to visually inspect machinery and course conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate local machinery when properly licensed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
