Job Summary
The Talent Development Manager plans and executes Textron's enterprise talent development strategy, programs, and processes to build organizational capability and prepare leaders and employees for current and future business needs. The role is responsible for ensuring Textron's talent development initiatives align to enterprise priorities, support business unit objectives, and drive measurable outcomes across the organization.
The Talent Development Manager partners with business unit and enterprise leaders to continuously improve learning, leadership development, and career development strategies while leading a team responsible for the delivery and effectiveness of enterprise talent development solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for informing and implementing Textron's enterprise talent development strategy through partnership with business unit and enterprise leaders to ensure learning and development initiatives support enterprise and business objectives
  • Lead, develop, and coach team members responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise talent development programs, processes, systems, and resources
  • Evaluate internal and external trends, benchmark practices, and organizational needs to identify opportunities to enhance Textron's talent development strategies, programs, and processes
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise learning and development solutions, including professional, leadership, and career development initiatives
  • Ensure the effective delivery, management, and utilization of enterprise learning resources, tools, vendors, facilitators, and development programs across the organization
  • Partner with business units and enterprise stakeholders to identify development priorities, align learning solutions to business needs, and drive enterprise-wide adoption and engagement
  • Ensure consistent talent development processes, resources, communications, and employee experiences across the enterprise while balancing business unit requirements
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business unit Talent Management and Talent Development teams to promote collaboration, best practice sharing, and alignment across the enterprise
  • Accountable for measuring program effectiveness and leveraging insights to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision making
  • Accountable for exemplary customer support and resolution of talent development issues and inquiries
  • Protect and maintain the privacy of employee personnel records, including personal and compensation information
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Advanced degree in organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, human resources, business, or similar field preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in multi-industry corporations working within learning and development, talent development, organizational development, or a related field for employees at all levels
  • Experience leading, coaching, or managing others preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain strong relationships
  • Proven project management experience with cross functional and/or cross business projects
  • Experience creating measurement and reporting systems to evaluate the quality, quantity, effectiveness, and appropriateness of the design and delivery of learning programs
  • Track record of producing and realizing creative ideas
  • Skilled in data collection and analysis
  • Textron business unit experience desired
