Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for a Manufacturing Test Software Engineer designing highreliability test solutions that integrate hardware and software for complex and dynamic manufacturing environments.

We are looking for someone eager to develop technical leadership skills. Rockwell Automation supports career development by offering comprehensive training, mentoring, and learning resources to set up our team members for success.

This role can involve participating in all phases of the development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, release, maintenance, and ongoing support.

You will report to the Manufacturing Test Engineering Manager and have a hybrid schedule working in Mayfield Heights or Twinsburg, OH.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop safetycritical manufacturing test systems for products, integrating software, hardware, and systems engineering disciplines.
  • Contribute to solutions to challenges in platform management, technical debt, data management, and cybersecurity.
  • Apply software engineering best practices and contribute to their adoption across the crossfunctional team.
  • Innovate within manufacturing by exploring advancements in automation, artificial intelligence, and new technologies.
  • Participate in a crossfunctional Agile team within a larger Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) organization, including sprint and product increment planning.
  • Initiate early collaboration with product teams to ensure new designs are optimized for testing, programming, and automation from the outset.
  • Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, release, maintenance, and ongoing support.
  • Communicate project progress, schedules, risks, and challenges.
  • Provide tier 2 support for technical problems with test equipment in live production
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 10%of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience (internships, coops, and school project teams may be considered).
  • Experience developing software in languages such as C#, C++, or Python.
  • Experience developing software for systems involving both hardware and software.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI tools.
  • Experience with hardwaresoftware integration and test.
  • Experience working in Agile frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Experience developing requirements and working in requirementsdriven environments.
  • Experience with testing and test coverage strategies.
